Hi team,

I am planning a drive from Bangalore to Hyderabad next week for my friend's wedding.

I will be starting early around 5 AM and I would most probably reach Gachibowli by the Lunch time. I am hence planning to explore some new places enroute Hyderabad and Bangalore and reach Hyderabad by dinner time.

Any suggestions from the experts here would be great.. TIA :)

Hi @mayank I would like to share a list of places which would fall enroute your road trip so that you can choose accordingly.

1) Nandi hills

2) Gandikota canyon

3) Belum caves

4) Orvakal rock garden

5) Yaganti temple

6) Lepakshi

All the above places will need a few detours for you to explore..

would love to hear more places if any from other members too. Hoping that this list would help you ?

Ahobilam

Ahobilam is a little extended detour! I have done this stretch last weekend!

Initial plan was Hyderabad - Jogulamba Alampur - Gandikota (Night Halt) - Ahobilam - Mahanandi - Kurnool - Hyderabad

But then due to time constraints and we also wanted not to rush around, plan changed and actual circuit completed was this -> Hyderabad - Jogulamba - Banaganapalle - Gandikota (Sunset & Halt at Jammalamadugu) - Banaganapalle - Yaganti - Banaganapalle - Nandavaram Choudeshwari Temple - Banaganapalle - Orvakal - Kurnool - Hyderabad (Banaganapalle is the center point to Yaganti and Nandavaram by 11kms on either side so had to pass through this village twice)

Started at 5am Saturday and reached home by 6pm Sunday.

Agree on it.

From what I heard, it will take at-least two days to explore this place.

We can go on a trek once the temperatures go down.

Only problem is lack of proper accommodation.

Haritha hotel is there in lower Ahobilam. Also, some basic accomodation present...I just reached by evening and stayed for a night. Had a darshan at upper Ahobilam in the morning and went to mahanandi, Alampur and reached home by night.

Wow, Never knew about this historic place existing in this stretch. What temples are these ? Could you share more details and information about the place ?

These temple were constructed in 16th century by military captains (Father and Son) of Vijayanagara Empire. We were told that the Hampi Vittala Temple and these temples were constructed at same time. One is Chinthala Venkataramana Swamy (God Vishnu) and other  on the banks of Penna River is Bugga Ramalingeswara (God Shiva) Temples. Gali Gopurams of later were not completed but no one will disappoint by visiting these temples. Beautiful sculptures in black stone.

Another thing I noticed is the cleanliness of the town. Said to be efforts of JC Diwakar Reddy Brothers.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
