About fort:

Kondaveedu Fort is in Kondaveedu village in Guntur district, It is located around 30 kilometres west of Guntur city. It is a hill fortress located 1,700 feet (520 m) above sea level.

Apart from this main fort, there are two other forts (names not known) nearby. Efforts are in progress to classify Kondaveedu Fort as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Road to Kondaveedu fort:

Previously, this place is known for trekking, there is no proper road to the hill top fort.

Now they have laid new road, which is fantastic to drive and has beautiful views.

Activities around the Kondaveedu fort:

Once you reach the hill top, you wont find any activities on the hill top.

Shoes are must to this place, If you want to explore.
No proper paths, you need to trek, difficulty level is very low.

You can find guides, they will help you in navigation.
Without guide, it is difficult to explore around for the first time.

Carry food and water.

Best time to vist Kondaveedu fort?
Early in the morning and evenings are best times to visit.

Avoid this place in summer.

Another unexplored place draws down your chart. All thanks to the beautiful Tarmac which looks like a road tripper's haven. This drive along this newly laid meandering hills is igniting some new thoughts in my head that tourism is going to be promoted more to this place by the AP Govt. Good one @Ranger

Nice place!

How many kilometres of ghat section?
Any accommodations on hill top?

Did you go on a trek? i mean is it allowed/safe?

I have done a trek at this place 4 years ago. I would say it's pretty safe & moderate level trek for first timers. The path up hill is pretty much straight which would take about 2 hours from the base point till you reach the top most point. The views from the top are amazing. There are no accommodation options on the top.

Carry your own food and water bottles while you go to the place. Note: Please do not litter the place :)

No development on the hill top.
Road is laid recently.

So may be in few years we may see some resorts.

I did not see anyone doing the trek.
I think there is some trekking path.

Previously, people used to trek when there is no road.

Thanks for bringing this place up

Thank you.

Go early in the morning, place is beautiful.

I can get crowded after 10AM and evenings.

Also don't forget to take a guide, there are local guys who will charge you around 100/- will take you on a safe path.

There is no markings/path once you reach the hill top.

You need to walk around 1~2 kilometres to cover all the areas.

It will be hectic.

Place is strictly average.

Apart from the road, there is nothing much around.

It can added to list while driving to Hamasaladeevi/Bapatla beach.

But Google is showing 6+ hrs of drive. How did you manage to come back on the same day? (As you are telling no accommodation options are there)

I went to my wife's home town near Vijayawada.

Decided to explore this new place. It is a two hour drive from Vijayawada.

Worth a drive, If you are going to some place around Vijayawada.

From Hyderabad it doesn't make sense to drive down. ?
