Friends,

I am planning for a HYDERABAD - TAMIL NADU - KERALA TRIP during OCT-2018 by car.

The tentative start date from HYDERABAD will be either 6th Oct or 11th Oct.

The return tentative date will be either on 19th Oct or 20th Oct to Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD - BANGALORE - COIMBATORE - KODAIKANAL - MUNNAR - THEKKADY - ALLEPPY / KUMARKOM - KOCHI - BANGALORE -HYDERABAD.

There will be night stay in BANGALORE, COMIBATORE, KODAI KANAL - MUNNAR - ALLEPPY / KUMARKOM - KOCHI - BANGALORE.

I will share more detail plan in a few days.

The Bangalore stop is just for rest in my brother's house and to see him.

However as per ongoing KERALA flood ,

I hear that many of the roads has also been damaged in KERELA.

So will it be ok to travel on OCT-2018 ?

May be Government will take some time to repair the damage roads.

Kindly suggest me . I will share my detail travel plan in few days.

Hi @BORNDRIVER, It's going to be one of the best trips of your life and very sure about it. The circuit that you have chosen to do is very perfect and would surely help you out in suggesting you the best places for stay after your itinerary gets fixed.

Kerala is surely in a bad state at the moment. Almost after the year 1924, this is the biggest flood occurred which has not finished yet. Many bridges in the interiors have been broken due to the heavy water currents too. Let's hope that things get better by time and they recover soon. Let's pray for Kerala :)

I think, you should change your plan to explore more towards western ghats for this October ?

Thanks Sagar. What are the places to explore on Western Ghats ?

There is another route in my mind to explore below.

HYDERABAD - BANGALORE - COIMBATORE - KODAIKANAL - PONDICHERY - MAHABALIPURAM - KANCHIPURAM - HYDERABAD.

From Kanchipuram  I will take KADAPA-KURNOOL route to hyderabad. I hope the stretch from KADAPA to KURNOOL must have been completed with 4 lane. In 2015, while returning from CHENNAI , I took CHENNAI (SRI PERUMBUDUR)-TIRUPATI-KADAPA-KURNOOL-HYDERBAD. The road from CHENNAI to TIRUPATI is excellent single lane road. Just before TIRUPATI we took the diversion towards KADAPA. The initial couple of km were patchy with little forest . Than we took KADAPA bypass to KURNOOL . That time the 4 lane work were in full swing .

Else if time will not permit I may directly travel to HYDERABAD from MAHABALIPURAM through NAM EXPRESSWAY (MAHABALIPURAM-CHENNAI-NELLORE-ONGOLE-ADANKI-MIRYALGUDA-HYDERABAD). The ADANKI route to CHENNAI from HYDERABAD is perfect road. Once we leave CHENNAI-VIJAYAWADA highway take turn towards ADANKI ...From there on till we touch HYDERABAD-VIJAYAWADA HIGHWAY ....There is very less traffic . I always prefer this route when travels to CHENNAI.

Lets see if I will be able to perform the above trip in October-2018. Kindly let me know if thee are some other better options to explore in Western Ghats.

@BORNDRIVER As per the recent news reports.. Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are on high alert after Kerala.. If everything around stays calm in peace, I think you can do this..

Otherwise, Western ghats is any day a better option over all of this...

You have got both mountains and beaches together :D There are multiple options and a lot of places left to explore around Mumbai and Pune.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
