Hyderabad To Omkareswar And Mahakaleswar

In SEPTEMBER-2017 , I did a trip from HYDERABAD to OMKARESWAR,MAHAKALESWAR,SHIRDI and HYDERABAD.

The route I took was:

HYDERABAD-NIZAMABAD-BODHAN-NANDED-AUNDHA NAGNATH (NAGNATH DARSHAN IN AUNDHA)-WASHIM-PATUR-KHAMAGAON-BURHANPUR-OMKARESWAR-MAHAKALESWAR (UJJAIN)-DHULE-SHIRDI-AHEMEDNAGAR-TEMBHURNI-SOLAPUR-HYDERABAD

I will split this route into 4 parts :

1. HYDERABAD TO OMKARESWER
2. OMKARWSWAR TO MAHAKALESWAR
3. MAHAKALESWAR TO SHIRDI
4. SHIRDI TO HYDERABAD

1. HYDERABAD TO OMKARESWAR:
This is one of the worst road I have ever seen in my life (atleat from AUNDHA to OMKARESWAR).

It is total 780km from HYDERABAD TO OMKARESWAR and and took 21 hours for me.

I was travelling in my TOYOTA ETIOS SEDAN.

I started from Hyderabad at morning 5am on 21st September 2017 an reach in 1:30 AM (NEXT DAY 22nd Sept.).

It was almost 21 hour drive, the longenst in my life.

Till NIZAMABAD it was excellent drive with 4 lane express highway .

After NIZAMABAD it was deteriorating horribly .

After AUNDHA NAGNATH ....I dont wat to speak about that road condition don't have words to choose from. ?

I reached AUNDHA (360km from hyderabad) by 12:00 .

We did DARSHAN in NAGNATH and started from AUNDHA at exactly 1 PM.

From AUNDHA to OMKARSWAR it is around 420 km but it took 12 hours for me.

The entire stretch from AUNDHA-WASIM-PATUR-KHAMAGAON-BURHANPUR till 20km to OMKARESWAR was full of pot holes with heavy traffic .

I just wondered , despite so huge traffic how the road condition is like this and government is not taking any action.

Before this trip, I did lot of search in google and I selected this route based on many positive feedback .

I am sorry but those feedback's are not correct .

May be that the road condition has deteriorated recently before my trip.

However such deterioration cant happen in one or 2 month.

So I will suggest everyone who plan to travel from HYDERABAD to OMKARESWAR should not take this route and try some other route . It will take years to repair this route .

In OMKARESWAR we stayed in NARMADA resort.

I had booked this before through MP TOURISM website .

The rooms were clean and very spacious.

We have booked two NON AC rooms as it was a MONSOON seaosn and OMKARESWAR is just like a small hill town.

We did the DARSHAN in OMKARESWAR TEMPLE in the morning .

The DARSHAN and PUJA etc....was so smooth that we forgot the pain of 21hr drive.

The OMKARESWAR TEMPLE is in a small island inside NARMADA RIVER.

You need to cross NARMADA RIVER over a small bridge from OMKAREWAR TOWN.

As it was a monsoon season the views from the bridge were breathtaking. We took lots of photograph over the bridge . You can see big dam on the NARMADA river from this bridge . Over this bridge only pedestrians are allowed...No vehicle ....

2. OMKARWSWAR TO MAHAKALESWAR:

On 22nd Sept. We started from NARMADA RESORT to UJJAIN for MAHAKALESWAR darshan at around 12 pm .

It is total 140km and first 50km was again same as before. Lot of pot holes and it is also a GHAT road.

Anyway it took almost 2 hr for us to cross this 50km . However it is very scenic and you will enjoy the forest .

You can stop in this stretch to have sweet corn...They are very tasty.

Once you cross this 50km stetch than next 90 km to UJJAIN is a pleasure to drive ...We stopped at CHARPAI restaurant for lunch...It was A BREATHTAKING RESTAURANT....So nice ambience and good food. Little bit expensive but that is understandable.

I was thinking how they are maintaining such a nice restaurant in the highway.

In UJJAIN we had booked HOTEL KALPANA PALACE through GOIBIBO.COM.

We reached UJJAIN by 4:30 PM and get refreshed in the HOTEL .

Then took a AUTO for Rs.450km to move around many famlous places in UJJAIN like SANDIPANI ASHRAM, MANGALNATH TEMPLE,KAL VAIRAV TEMPLE etc.

On the same evening we also did LORD MAHAKESWAR darshan as well.

We stayed overnight in Ujjain and next day morning (23RD SEP.) 4 AM get ready for BHASHMA AARTI DARSHAN..

Remember to book your BHASHMA AARTI ticket prior through their temple website.

In google you can find the details for BHSHMA AARTI ticket booking .

Without BHASHMA AARTI DARSHAN LORD MAHAKALESWAR darshan will not complete.

Please remember that people start the queue for BHASHMA AARTI at 2AM itslef.

We were little bit late but got lucky to get into the temple because we had earlier reservation .

The gate for BHASHMA AARTI darshan will close by 4:30AM..

We finished the BREAKFAST at the hotel and start our trip to Shirdi at around 10PM from UJJAIN .

3. MAHAKALESWAR TO SHIRDI

We took the DHULE route and it was a pleasure drive ...Absolutely no issue .

The entire stretch till around 20 to 30km to Shirdi was 4 lane express highway.
This stretch is around 460km . You will not feel any issue on this route. We reached Shirdi by 6:30 PM and stayed in DWARAVATI BHAKTINIWAS (pre-booked). On the same evening we did Baba's dashan and stayed overnight.

4. SHIRDI TO HYDERABAD

We took Shirdi-Ahemad Nagar-Tembhurni-Solapur-Hyderabad.

It was around 610 km .

From Shirdi to Ahemednagar the road is good with occassional pot holes.

From Ahemednagar to Tembhurni the road is not very great but it is manageable.

You can maintain a speed of 60-70km/hr.

As I am driving in this route from last 2 years, I can see the stretch from Ahemednagar to Tembhurni is improving year by year.

The 4 lane work going on in this route . Please be-careful as there will be lots of diversions with huge no.of trucks loaded with sugar canes. You will find lot of sugarcane field in this stretch.

Occasionally you will find the tractors and carts as well.

In simple words this stretch is very busy and you need to have bit of patience and stay alert all the time.

Now from Solapur to Hyderabad the first 100km is not so great with lot of four lane work and diversions.

Once you cross this 100 km next 200km is 4 lane express highway.

Have a safe trip friends.

Wow your attention to details is fantastic.

I have never done Hyderabad to Omkareshwar.

But i have got a clear picture of roads.

May be going via Nagpur makes sense, even though it is far.

It is very difficult to do it in a single day.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
