A Day trip from Hyderabad to Basara

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to do casual Road rip to Basar as it is 35 kms from my Native - Nizamabad

Gnana Saraswati Temple  is a Hindu temple of Goddess Saraswati located on the banks of Godavari River at Basar, Nirmal District - Telangana,

It is one of the two famous Saraswati temples in India, the other being in Jammu & Kashmir. Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge and learning. Children are brought to the temple for the learning ceremony called as Akshara abyasam

Distance From hyderabad By Road is around 210 Kms

There are many trains reaching to Basar starting from Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Kacheguda ranging from Passenger to Express Rails

It was Lazy sundat Morning and trip was decided overnight and plan was to attend a function in Nizamabad and hence Basar was added.

Started by 6:00 from Hyderabad and being Sunday NH-44 Highway was very cool and fun to drive with very less traffic on road

Reached home in Nizamabad by 8:30 A:M

Few Snaps Of the Highway of Hyderabad - Nixamabad

One Must take turn towards Nizamabad before Reaching Dichpally  to reach Basar and after travelling 15 kms .. We reach Nizamabad town and from there take Road towards Bodhan and after travelling till Jankampet Take right towards Navipet and after travelling around 20 kms we can Reach Basar

-- 10: 30 A:M Started from Nixamabad after refreshing. , we were warned about Road conditions , Road being widening and the work has been in progress sine a long time and true to their words Road was really horrible ....But being Monsoon and rain hit very good it was all lush green and its like Green carpet spread all over

I would recommend people from Hyderabad better opt train instead of road till the Road work is done and it seems it would take easily 3-4 months and more also

We can Park Car at Temple Premises and Reaching Godavari is around 1/3 km from Temple and expect some rush but manageable though.

Rates around the shops are not so on higher side but they will charge some extra amount .

One can have very peaceful darshan and not always expect few days it would be overcrowded - we had a nice darshan yesterday being sunday.

Attaching Temple timings

-- No Mobiles and Cameras are allowed - We Need to deposit them at counter , Laddu and Pulihora prasadam available at Prasadam counters and there are no good food options around Basar and one has to come to Nizamabad for  good hotels for food

Excellent information @travel.rtc. The seasonal weather must have supported you well in reaching this place leaving the roads aside. Every time I drove to Basara, it was during summer and it always bothered me. Thanks a lot for sharing the pictures of those pathetic roads en-route Basara. Very helpful for the people who are planning their drive to this place. :)

I did it 2 times and reached this place in 4 hrs each time on my wagonR and creta fully loaded.
Hence any car can do easily. I prefer to do this on winter as it's very pleasent .

can any one please help to update the latest road condition from Hyderabad to Basara?

Roads are excellent.
If you start early in the morning you can reach within 5 hours.

Hyderabad to Dichpally road are excellent, it is a 4-lane toll road.
Dichpally > Nizamabad > Basara route is single lane road, but the roads are good.

Roads are good till Nizamabad and From Nizamabad to Basar Road works are On but most of them are done ... Being Election time try to reach in Mornings  because due to Road Shows or campaigns ...you may get delayed . Be aware of the high temperatures in Summer .. this area would have relatively 2-3 degrees more hot than Hyderabad .

Happy Journey

Perfect blog @travel.rtc and thank you for sharing latest road updates . Approaximately how many km this bad stretch was ?

I traveled  to BASARA in 2016 during my  HYDERABAD-PARLI VAIJNATH-AUNDHA NAGNATH-HAZUR SAHIB NANDED-BASARA-HYDERABAD trip. That time the roads till BASARA from NANDED and from BASARA to HYDERABAD (via NIZAMABAD) was pretty good.  We had done a night stay in  Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Nri Yatri Niwas . A very nice place to stay and it is a  part of HAZUR SAHIB GURUDWARA .

We did our younger daughter's AKSHARABHYASAM  in SARASWATI MATA temple. There is a decent south Indian Hotel adjacent to SARASWATI MATA temple. We had our lunch their and started to Hyderabad around 3 PM.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise
After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.
Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.
We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.
Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)
      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach
Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
