About DRIVEU app

I recently came across this App called DRIVEU.

They are basically doing OLA and UBER without a car.

They will drive your car!

Fare:

One way trip

  • Your private driver anytime @ ₹ 99/hr
  • Pay by the minute after the first hour
  • One-way charges of ₹50 + ₹5/km after 5 kms, upto ₹150
  • Night time charge of ₹200 for drives ending between 10PM to 6AM

Round trip

  • Your private driver anytime @ ₹ 99/hr
  • Pay by the minute after the first hour
  • Night time charge of ₹200 for drives ending between 10PM to 6AM

Out of station

  • Your private driver anytime @ ₹999 for 24hrs
  • Pay ₹60 for additional 1 hrs
  • Food and accommodations to be provided by the customer for the driver
  • Book 3 hours in advance for an outstation trip

How it works?

Hiring drivers just got hassle free with DriveU’s new app. Download the app and driver on call is just few taps away.

Set up the pickup and drop locations and timings in our app and we will assign you a driver.

Track the driver and communicate with him right through our app!

When the ride is over our driver will hand you back your keys, and the app will show you the fare breakup too! Our payment options let you pay cash or go cashless by using PayTM, MobiKwik or DU Money.

Now, end your commuting woes and travel smart with just a few taps, let us DriveU around.

soruce

Are they available in Hyderabad?

Yes

Idea behind this app is fantastic.

It will be very convenient compared to the UBER and OLA

Round trip and long drives may not work out.

But for one way trip, i loved this app.

Previously, when i get drunk due to unavoidable situations after office ?
I used to leave my car at the hotel and used to take a cab.

Now, I can use this app.

Did anyone use the app?

How are the drivers?
How will the driver reach home after dropping us? If it is a remote area?

I have used this DRIVEU app earlier 2 weeks ago  just to try it. I have heard a lot of bad reviews about this before, that our car being put into the hands of the private drivers is not a safe option to choose.

But, after using it I haven't experienced any harm but had a good time conversing with the driver tagged to me. It was late in the night around 12 AM and I was charged just an extra 100 INR for being late by 1 hour :D

Thanks for creating a platform where I can just vent out my frustration on my experience with DriveU.

I booked drive U a day before my travel. I had read many bad reviews but still decided to give it a try. They neither sent a driver nor any response or intimation. I had planned my whole day accordingly and faced lot of inconvenience. Would never recommend them to anyone unless you have a lot of time for trial and error. I have wasted a whole day relying on this.

Anyway my experience is above average

if you expect the drivers to drive as good as you do then it would be above average :P ..

Btw how does it work .. do they come to your place and pick you up and drop you till the destination ?

Waiting hours would be charged as well for sure.. so probably close that trip and then book again from that destination to back home or something?

It is kind of a start up where teething problems would be there for sure..

Did you provide your feedback to the them? How was the response to your feedback?

Probably couple of months more and then it may get streamlined..

You just book a slot and enter your pick up n drop point details where you will be assigned one based on the availability. The assigned person reaches your start point by the time you need and drives you to the destination. That's all we have to be bothered about  :D During my drop so late, the person who drove for me had a companion who followed along on a bike, so he left with his friend on the bike after he dropped me.

May stop so many drunken driving accidents

Driver said 99% people who book them are usually from clubs/bars.

So all the peak bookings are around 2300~2400 hours.

So we should book around 2200~2230 hours to get a driver.

  • 2 weeks later...

so yea i gave DriveU a shot when i had to send the car along with an elderly person on way.

Experience wise i would say they cancelled the booking when they could not allocate a driver at the last minute which was kind of painful for me but even OLA and Uber do that :) .

To book again they need 1 hour advance time slot so booked again at 11:30 am.I got a call 30 min before the scheduled time and the driver reached the spot on time :D .. impressive..

Not to forget that the driver who was allocated must have been really really good as the elderly person with whom he was traveling appreciated him and that is not at easy ;) .

We kind of asked him to drive the family around for a day and he agreed (against the company rules?? )

This is the major problem with DriveU.

Drivers are not consistent.

Some problem with the business model or lack of drivers.

Driver job is mostly a volatile job.

Drivers keep on switching, average period is around 3 months.

There are some exceptional cases where drivers stick to their owners for years.

i am planning to use this app for myself on the upcoming Finals

Be prepared with PlanB ?

There will be many requests on that day.

Even, I am relying on this app for the day.

Also, most of the valet drivers will be willing to drop you, If you stay till the closing hour.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
