Route :

Vijayawada — Rajahmundry — Tuni — Visakhapatnam — Vijayanagaram — Salur — Sunki — Sunabeda — Koraput — Jeypore - Kotpad - Jagdalpur — Chitrakoot —  Sunabeda — Detour to Some least explored Hilltop in Eastern Ghats (Deomali)  — Vijayanagaram  — Vijayawada

Road Condition

Vijayawada — Eluru — Tanuku — Rajahmundry .. The Roads are good. Look out for the occasional dips and potholes.

Rajahmundry - Tuni - Visakhapatnam ..  Good Roads.

No separate Fast Tag lanes and toll collected is through hand scanners for fast tag users which take away the purpose of fast tag.

Bypassing Vishakhapatnam in peak hours is a mess particularly the stretch between Airport / Nad Junction / Towards Vizianagaram

4 Laning in progress between Vishakapatnam and Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram to Salur — Decent 2 Laned roads.

Salur to Sunki Ghat has lovely marked roads and the scenery is mind-blowing at the Sunki Ghat and betters as you enter Odisha.

Sunki to Jeypore — Good Roads. Look out for local traffic on this stretch.

Jeypore is plagued with local traffic and the roads are Okaish with occasional potholes.

From Jeypore to CG border the roads are well marked and good throughout.

From the CG Border till Jagdalpur — Road widening in Progress.

Jagdalpur to Chitrakoot — The roads for the first 6 kilometres or so is not in great shape with potholes and once this stretch is crossed, the roads are good till chitrakoot.

Stay Options in Chitrakoot — CG Tourism, Dandami Resort. Booking is ONLY via online and no-walkins permitted. No other stay options anywhere close by.

Detour to Deomali — This is between Sunabeda and the Odisha - AP Border and is a beautiful place to visit. Care needs to be exercised while driving up the last 3 kms to the top as the route is infested with loose gravel and mud.

Return to Vijayawada by the same route taken for the onward journey.

@H-Hoppr Lovely information about a place which none have shared so far in the forum till date. I have always wanted to visit this place but it was too long for just 1 place which had pulled me back from doing this. I think, the falls looks this way post monsoon.

This would be better with enough stops and covering all these places enroute instead of going straight to Chitrakoot driving for about 1000 kilometers! but this plan would need about a week's travel / drive to properly cover all of these places! Seriously a good idea ??

20hrs as suggested by Gmaps.

Agree that time is major concern.
If we have 20 hours of drive time, we can easily the reach Kerala and explore around.?

But from the pictures waterfalls looks like a worthy visit.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
