Recently we have completed Hyderabad to Delhi circuit.
There are some very bad patches after Nagpur and road manners is worst.
People are litterly using dividers for cow grazing.
You will be lucky if you reach safely.

If you can share more details on following queries, I can help you with itenary.

1. How many days you are planning?
2. Which car?(to avoid short/bad routes)

3. Are you travelling with family?(to suggest safer route)

Hi @Ranger

Thanks for your response,

I am planning to do a 10 day road trip starting from Hyderabad. Planning to cover Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur.

I am doing this with my wife and 2 kids.

Please suggest me the best route to reach Jaipur from Hyderabad. And also the best route plan to cover all the above places. Any recommendations for stay with family at a decent budget of 2500 to 3000 INR per night would be great.

Thanks a ton :)

Let me share you some information.
We have recently driven from Hyderabad to Shimla.
We pushed a little hard since we are not travelling with family.
Let me suggest you the following plan.

Hyderabad to Jiapur can be done in two/three days depending on your comfort.
Regarding the route?
There are multiple options.
Since you are travelling with family, I would suggest you to stick to Delhi route.

Two days plan

Hyderabad to Sagar

Hyderabad to Nagpur is easy to drive.
There are few very bad patches but almost 70% road is 4-lane.

Nagpur to Sagar.
It is has mixed road condition.
4-lane, ghat section and 4-lane under construction.
You will face some truck traffic.

If you can push on Day1.
You can stay at Sagar.
During our drive, we stayed at
1. Hotel Saroja spa and resort (Hotel is safe for families)
Approach roads are very narrow.
2. Hotel Royal palace.
It is closer to highway and little isolated.
Watchman is carring a gun along with him. Not sure how safe this place is.
Though we did not face any issue.

Day-2 :Sagar to Jaipur
Road condition is good and most of it is a 4-lane toll road.

Let me know If you can do it two/three days?

Note: Avoid night drive at any cost, roads are unpredictable on this section.
keep an eye on cows/dogs/pigs they are all over the road. Even on the toll section.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise
After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.
Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.
We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.
Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach
Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
