I am planning for 4 days tour for Dandeli and Gokarna.

Can anyone update on road conditions and best route from Hyderabad to Hubli/Gokarna

Other suggestions for these places are also welcome

Hi @chandrakant, Considering your start point as Gachibowli, suggested route would be

Day - 1

Gachibowli - Mahbubnagar - Raichur - Gadag - Hubbali - Dharwad - Dandeli

Road till Dharwad is good all the way which will take you less than 12 hours for about ~500 kms.

The next 70 kms to reach Dandeli resorts will take you about 2 hours through the forest due to the road conditions.

Day - 2

Spend the day in Dandeli doing activities like Water rafting, Natural water Jacuzzi, Kayaking and forest trails.

Day - 3 (Dandeli - Gokarna)

There are usually 2 routes to reach Gokarna.

Route 1: Dandeli - Kulgi - Bhagvati - Idgundi - Hiregutti - Gokarna

Shortest route (ghat section) - 3 hours drive for 130 kms

Route 2 : Dandeli - Kumbarwada - Anshi National park - Karwar - Ankola - Gokarna

The above route measures about 170 kms and takes 4 hours. More enjoyable drive and scenic than Route 1 as it involves the ghat drive and a coastal drive from Karwar.

Start off early around 6 AM to enjoy the drive. You will reach Gokarna before 10 AM and the rest of the day is yours at Gokarna to enjoy the beautiful beaches.

Day - 4

Gokarna - Hubbali - Sindhanur - Raichur - Mahbubnagar - Gachibowli

650 kms and 14 - 15 hours including breaks. Make sure you start early to cover up more miles by escaping early morning city traffic near Hubbali.

Drive Safe and Have a great trip ahead :)

Hi Guys,

I have planned to visit Dandeli this month last week, Any one with recent experience on the Road condition from Hyderabad->Hubli->Dandeli?

Hi Vaseem,

Hyderabad to Dandeli can be done in 14 hours including a breakfast stop and a lunch break.

The best available route would be Hyderabad - Mahbubnagar - Raichur - Sindhanur - Dharwad - Dandeli

The roads until Mahbubnagar is excellent.. And it starts to deteriorate from Deosugur - Raichur - Sindhanur

I hope this helps you for your road trip.. Do share us your feedback on the road conditions after you are done with your trip :) Drive safe

Hi Sagar,

Thanks for the Route-Details. Sure I will update the Road condition once done with Trip. I hope the conditions of the road to be good or at least average.
This route has lot of speed breakers and time taking. Try to go via rout 1 - Raichur, sindhanur, Gangavathi
Or try rout 2 - humnabad , Gulburga, Bijapur, bhagalkot, Hubli....
I feel route 2 is better and takes less time..

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
