Hyderabad to Nagpur 2016 update:

Hyderabad to Adilabad : Excellent road, can be done in 3 hours flat out.

Adilabad to Hinganghat : Recently laid single road with some diversions but the road is smooth.

Hinganghat to Nagpur : Excellent except for some small stretches.

Overall it is lot better now compared to the last year.

You can easily do it under 7 hours.:fight:

I am planning to drive down from Hyderabad to Nagpur on the coming week.

Anyone has done this route recently. I drove this route 3 years back. I remember about some bad stretches once we cross Adilabad.

Road condition is good now. Work is still pending at some parts. Rest all it is fine.

Hyderabad to Adilabad drive is bliss. But once you cross Adilabad road condition starts to deteriorate but nothing alarming you can easily cruise at 100KM/hr.

Did this route last week. It is exactly as mentioned took us 8 hours to drive from Nagpur to Hyderabad. Including breaks.

Even I travelled from Hyd to Adilabad recently, the road conditions are like superb. We started at Adilabad in the evening 4pm and reached Medchal by 8pm including breaks. Not sure about ADB to Nagpur

Hyderabad to Adilabad has excellent 4-lane road. Minimal traffic once we cross the city outskirts. It is always fun to drive on that road.

Visited Kuntala waterfalls many times. We can easily do it in a single day without any stress.

Above excellent road from Hyderabad to Adilabad... from there onwards until Hinganghat there are a lot of diversions, craters, roadworks etc., where you need to be careful, after which it's smooth again till Nagpur. I do this stretch regularly and do it in 7-8 hours. Holiday seasons it'll take more due to a lot of two-wheeler riders getting back to their hometowns. Not many food outlets too.

Thank you for the update.

Adilabad to Hinganghat road work is pending from years!
God knows when they will complete.
Crazy diversions and potholes.

Hi Nabeel, Welcome on board.

Current status of the road condition between Hyderabad and Nagpur hasn't changed much since 2016.

Hyderabad to Adilabad : Super good as always.

Adilabad to Hinganghat : Decent single road with some diversions but the road is smooth.

Hinganghat to Nagpur :Really good except for a few small stretches.

It hasn't changed much now when compared to the last year.

Estimated drive time would be 7 hours considering an early morning start from your base.

Is night driving OK and what should be the good areas to stop.

At what time you are planning to start.

Starting early in the morning/afternoon is a better option.
You can plan a stopover at Nagpur, sleep over and start early in the morning on the very next day.

Hyderabad to Nagpur : 500 kilometers
Nagpur to Agra : 800 kilometers

Why Nagpur?
Accommodations are very decent and reasonably priced.

Once you cross Nagpur, options are very limited.

WagonR can easily do Hyderabad to Nagpur section.

What time you are planning to start? So that we can suggest a food stop over.

Breakfast stop:
Divya Restaurant : https://goo.gl/maps/5Q8PeZ5A8vF2

Lunch stop:
If you want to refresh and need clean washrooms, I would suggest you to take a detour from Dichpally to Nizamabad.
Once you cross Nirmal you cannot find a proper restaurant.

Would recommend hotel Nikhil sai International at Nizamabad

Make sure you have the lunch before Nirmal

Hi Pratit,
Welcome to India-Drive

Road condition is great, 4-lane toll road.
Very few kilometers of bad patches between Adilabad and Hingangat.

For food options you can try the above listed hotels.

Hi,

I'm planning a trip from Hyderabad to Nagpur on Dec 1. I plan to do a night ride as that is the only option we have at the moment. Anything in particular that I need to keep in mind regarding the roads and food joints. I am planning to go on a TATA Tiago XZ.

Thanks for all the help, i really appreciate this thread. I'll add my 2 cents once I am back from the trip.

Regards,

Ezra

Road is little isolated once you cross Kamareddy.

Very limited food options on this route.
If you are travelling with family, I would suggest you to plan a stop over at Nizamabad (before 10 PM) for food and refreshments.

Else you can stopover at road side dhaba.

Drive safe and happy journey.

Nagpur to Hyderabad is excellent, 4-lane toll road.
There are few bad patches, but nothing alarming.

Hyderabad to Bangalore is one of the best highway in the country.
Road are super smooth.

4-lane toll road.
Start early in the morning from Hyderabad to beat village traffic till Jadcherla.

Guest Tamal Das

We have planned a trip to Tadoba national in January. Route will be NH44 till Adilabad and state highways thereafter.

Two Questions:

1. Is there good restaurant (like food pyramid or hill park on hyd-blore part of nh44) where we can have a good meal and there are good washrooms as well?

2. Any input about the road from Adilabad to Moharli gate of Tadoba?

Thanks and Regards, Tamal

Very limited food options between Adilabad to Moharli.

Few small Dhabas available en-route but they are average, don't expect clean washrooms.

You can find some hotels in Wani.

Adilabad to Moharli gate has multiple routes, all the roads are average.

If you are driving a low slung sedan, take this route.
Adilabad --> Karangi --> Wani --> Ghugus --> Moharli

Roads/Gates are little confusing in Tadoba, check with locals/accommodation provider if there is any confusion.

Hi all,
I traveled from Hyderabad to Nagpur.
Road condition( infrastructure) is excellent.
It is a 4-lane toll road all the way.

Refreshment options:
There is  a nice dhaba at Nirmal diversion, towards "Bhainsa" which has decent food.

Roads are 100% safe.
Bangalore to Hyderabad is one of the best stretch, can be done during day/night
Hyderabad to Adilabad roads are excellent.
Adilabad to Nagpur stretch is very poor.
Bad roads, potholes, lack of traffic sense and list is endless.
Tiago can do it without any issue. Plan to do Adilabad-Nagpur stretch during day time.
Very few food options between Adilabad and Nagpur.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
