Drive to a Mysterious Island - November 18, 19

After an enthralling monsoon drive meet, 'India-Drive' now invites you to drive along for an overnight camp at a mysterious island under the beautiful night skies for those who believe in self exploration while allowing in-depth discovery of the destination.

 

Let us drive in a union spirit to continue to close down for this year on a cheerful note. So come out, join our convoy with 'India-Drive' and hunt down to our own piece of paradise.

 

When: November 18, 19 - 2017

Where: Backwaters of Nagarjunasagar reservoir.

Distance: 160 Kilometres

Number of slots available: 30

 

Itinerary:

 

Day 1:

12:30 pm - We start the drive from the meet up point.
16:00 pm - Reach the destination, park our cars at a designated location, board the boat and head towards the destined island.
16:30 pm - We reach the island and start walk towards the camping spot.
17:30 pm - Small trek to get the best view of the sun set.
18:00 pm - Head back to the camping spot and pitch our own tents.
20:30 pm - We enjoy our dinner time besides some interesting and funny conversations.
22:00 pm - We set to sleep.


Day 2:
05:30 am - We wakeup to Sunrise.
08:00 am - We start back from the island towards the parking point.
09:00 am - Start off out drive towards Hyderabad.
09:30 am - We stop by for breakfast enroute.

12:30 pm - Reach Hyderabad

 

Note: We won't be having any fuel stop in between. So, please make sure that your tanks are full before the drive starts.

Things to carry: 

  • Please do carry your own dinner, water bottles and snacks which could be sufficient for 2 days and a night.
  • Shoes, track pants and T-shirts.
  • Bring your own sleeping bags or quilts or bed sheets to in-line your tents before you hit the sac.
  • Toiletries, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Mosquito repellent cream and Glucose / Electrol (personal medical kit)
  • Camera kits and Telescopes if any star gazing enthusiasts or night photography enthusiasts.
  • Most importantly loads of energy and positive attitude.

Cost per head: 1050 INR which includes (Night camp + Boat ride + Evening snacks + Club Fee)

 

Payment mode: PAYTM the amount to 9849021091.

 

(***Note: Life jackets and Tents will be provided for all the individuals)

 

Disclaimer:

 

Accepting to participate in this Drive, is an agreement that you have joined us voluntarily and you accept that organisers do not hold any responsibility for loss or damage of property (vehicle etc.). Also, you are responsible for your own safety and any act of negligence that endangers the safety of fellow passengers, guests or others.

 

Terms and Conditions:

 

1) Only cars are allowed.

2) No age/sex restrictions on joining the drive until the driver is licensed.

3) Your car must have all the necessary gear. (Spare tyre etc.).

4) You need to follow the designated convoy position and keep safe distance from the adjacent cars.

5) No compromise on safety at any time seat belts are a must!, always use indicators for lane change.

6) Kindly avoid 'free-play' and 'show-off' during the trip - follow the Marshal's instructions at all times.

7) Carry enough water/ refreshments/ drinks for self and passengers.

8) Driving members can bring up to 3 guests. We encourage families.

9) You are required to confirm compliance to the conditions for this trip before we can register your RSVP.

10) Acceptance of your RSVP is only notional, and the organizers reserve the right to select the final list of attendees.

11) The organizers do not hold any responsibility for loss or damage of property (vehicle, gear etc.).

@sagar I will be in Hyderabad. But my wife might go chennai. So i have put tentative for her. But i ll definitely join this time as it could be a last drive from me with India Drive for some time. I'm moving to chennai permanently to chennai in december 1st week

Hey ,

can we get our tent or is it a setup tent we need to hire... Was super excited to buy a tent n sleeping bag so asking [emoji846]

We will be providing a tent to everybody on twin sharing basis or on triple sharing basis. Please do carry your own inner linings for the tent such as bed sheets or pillows or quilts or sleeping bags and not to forget the dinner sets :) And if you are willing to carry your own tents, you can still do that.

Yes buddy planning to buy a tent n sleeping bag as after our ID trip this weekend I am going on another overnight camping trip to Koilsagar with colleagues... Will come handy [emoji7]

Hey guys, after listening to the news about boats being banned around Nagarjunasagar since the last weekend, we have contacted them and came to know that all the boats in that region are strictly prohibited from taking part in any activity until their surveillance is done. As this information has reached us directly from our boarding point, we are breaking down this trip at the moment as we lack in the means of transport to reach the island.
We shall plan this trip soon once things settle down. All the transactions being made will be redirected to the same number.

It has been a great drive meet and loud shout to all the members who attended this meet up. Best part of this drive is the most energetic and always enthusiastic crew. :)

It was wonderful meeting  @sbhamidi @Sainath @Mahendra @neerjanath @kaustav @amruth @venu for the first time.

Though we reached up the hill late after a hectic trek through the thorny bushes under the night sky, I am sure it must have been a blissful moment by the time we reached the top to pitch up our tents.

Knowing some of the interesting facts about the night sky has always been exciting and all the thanks to dheeraj for making it more enthralling by giving us a closer view through the telescope. All the talks about cars, camping spots and the stars besides dinner & campfire was quite an exciting experience. The kids Sreshta & Arnav and not to forget the first pet of the crew 'Heidi' were very energetic and cheerful until we bid a bye. The morning sunrise view and chai followed by a dip in the reservoir has closed the event successfully before we drove back to our base :D

      Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise
       
      After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.
       
      Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.
       
      We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.
       
      Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.
