Hyderabad to Gokarna- Goa

Hey @john06, Gokarna is mostly a beach place having the most sacred mahabaleshwara temple which is on the coast too. It is more of a trekkers paradise.

Famous beaches in Gokarna: Gokarna beach, Kudle beach, Om beach, Paradise beach and Half moon beach.

The drive between Gokarna and Goa is most fun being a coastal one. Enroute this circuit, you tend to cover Goa from its south which is more peaceful.

Hi John6,

Here is my suggestion.

Day-1
Hyderabad to Udipi

Day-2
Visit st.Mariy's island

Drive to Murdeshwar

Drive to Gokarna/Goa: Gokarna is overrated place, go only If you have booked proper accommodation. South Goa is better option.

Day-3

Relax in Goa/Gokarna

Day-4
Drive back to Hyderabad

Agree with Ranger!!! in case if u r planning to visit murdeshwar start your trip from Udupi towards Goa!!!

Gokarna they are few places where you can camp or else u can also try the rooms near om beach, dont remember the name though.
Gokarna to Goa is fun to drive!
Did dis stretch last year.
Roads are average.

Cheers and drive safe

But is worth to stay 4 days in Gokarna completely !!
Gokarna is a beautiful place and beaches with less crowded , however if you want to stay away from the busy life can enjoy this place by staying 3 or 4 days , u can rent a bike or cycle and roam anywhere u want . Or just for sightseeing one day is enough

It's a long journey with tiresome driving

Agree with nitin, Journey on these roads is pretty tiresome.

It better to add two more days to your plan.

I had bad experience in December, place is over crowded and decent accommodations are expensive.

We drove from Chikmagalur to Gokarna, We searched for accommodation(2 hours) and gave up.

Then we decided to drive down to South Goa, Which is a good decision that we didn't regret.

If it is 4 days including travel between Hyderabad - Gokarna - Goa - Hyderabad, The time is too short, Rather I would suggest you to stick to either of it as @nitin88 suggested.

Malpe is  a place next to Udipi from which you can take a cruise ride to reach the St.Marys Islands. There are quite a few beach stays near Malpe which could be perfect to relax.

Please suggest a best route and dhabas between Hyderabad to Goa !!

Hyderabad to Goa Best Route (2017) : Noth Goa

Hyderabad --> Raichur -->Sindhanur-->  Gangavathi --> Hubli --> Dharward --> Belgavai --> Chorla --> Mapusa --> Goa

Don't expect super good food options, Hubli and Dharward has got few dhabas.

Plan to start as early as possible.
I would suggest you to start at 4 AM.

You can escape a lot of village traffic till 8 AM.
Once the villages traffic picks up, it will kill your average as most of the route goes through villages.

Don't follow google maps blindly, If you miss a single turn you will be in soup.
Make sure you pass through each and every village/town in the above given route.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
