Completed a wonderful road trip to goa from Oct 4-9.
To Goa:
Started at Hanumakonda at 10:30 AM on 4th Oct and reached Belagavi at 12:30 AM and stayed at Hotel Sankam Residency for overnight stay. Started from hotel at 9AM after breakfast and reached our stay Hotel Regenta Central North Goa at Arpora by 1PM on 5th Oct. Had packed lunch at Zaheerabad, Dinner at Food court at S – Hypermart: Vijayapura (Good food with reasonable price) and Breakfast at Hotel Sankam.
Route Taken: Hanumakonda – Hyderabad ORR(Ghatkesar – Mumbai exit) – Sangareddy – Zaheerabad – Humnabad – Kalaburigi – Ghangapur – Vijayapura – Bagalkot Cross – Belagavi – Tilari Nagar Ghat – Tivim –Arpora
Road Condition
1.    Hanumakonda – Hyderabad ORR: Decent 4 lane highway and time taken is 2 hours 15 mins.
2.    Hyd ORR: 59 KMs smooth 8 lane express and time taken is 45 mins.
3.    ORR Mumbai exit to Sangareddy: Old 4 lane road with busy traffic and time taken is 25 mins
4.    Sangareddy to Humnabad: Smooth 4 lane highway and time taken is 1.5 hours
5.    Humnabad – Kalaburigi: 2 lane undivided highway with paved shoulders and time taken 1hour and 10 mins. Road is smooth and you may face speed breakers here and there.
6.    Kalaburigi Ring road – Ghangapur – VijayaPura bypass: Kalaburigi – Ghanagapur is 2 lane highway with very rough surface may hear lot of tyre noise. Ghanagapur to Jeratagi is narrow road with so many speed breakers at villages. Jeratagi to Vijayapura S- Hypermart: it’s a 2 lane highway with paved shoulders and speed breakers at villages and time taken for this stretch is 3 hours
Note: Please avoid Ghangapur instead travel via Jevarigi, Road is much better compared Ghangapur (google suggest Ghangapur)
7.    Vijayapura – Bagalkot Cross: Good 2 lane highway( bad for 2 kms where Railway over bridge construction is in progress) and you will find lots of speed breakers when you come near to Krishna river and until Bagalkot and time taken is 1hour 20 mins
8.    Bagalkot to Belagavi Sankam Residency: 2 lane highway with paved shoulders and road condition is good but issue is with speed breakers at villages.
9.    Belagavi – Goa via Tilari NagarGhat:  Belagavi to Patane Phata village where you turn left towards Tilari Nagar is a narrow 2 lane way with some rough patches but can be managed.
Patane Phata to Tilari nagar Ghat View Point Single lane road with horrible condition but the view point is very scenic here. From this view point ghat descent start and Road is butter smooth until end of the ghat. Once the ghat is finished you will find rough road until Goa border. Goa Border to Arpora road is better condition and this took us 4 hours of time.
Note: I had taken this route as Chorla ghat is also in worst condition.
To Warangal:
Started at our Hotel at 4:30 AM sharp and reached our home at Hanumakonda by 9:30 PM. Had breakfast at Hotel Amar just before Nipani and Lunch at Hotel Gujarat Basavakalyan.
Route taken:
Goa – NH66 till Banda – Satuli – Amboli ghat- Ajara – Hotel Goa Ves on NH48 – Patankudi – Chikodi – Miraj & Sangli by Pass – Solapur – Humnabad – Sangareddy – Hyd ORR – Ghatkesar – Hanumakonda.
Road Condition:
1.    Arpora – NH66 till Banda:  from Arpora to Smooth road leads to NH66 and 4 lane Highway till Banda. Time taken for this stretch is 45 mins.
2.    Banda to Satuli: narrow road with lots bad patched and took us 45 mins
3.    Satuli – Hotel Goa Ves (NH 48) via Amboli ghat: this stretch is also in bad condition. Took us 2hours 30 mins
4.    Hotel Amar on NH 48 – Chikodi via Patankudi: Road till Patankudi is smooth single lane road which is a shortcut to Nipani – Chikodi 2 lane smooth Toll road. This stretch took us 30 mins.
5.    Chikodi – Miraj & Sangli Bypass: NH 160 is a 2 lane high way with couple of bad patches. Road is rough towards Miraj & Sangli Bypass and took us 1:15 mins
6.    Sangli Bypass – Solapur:  Excellent 4 lane Highway till Solapur and catching up NH65 from this highway from Solapur city traffic was not that difficult and this took us 3 hours
7.    Solapur to Hyderabad ORR: 4 Lane High way with very bad patches between Naldurg and Omerga. This stretch took us 5 hours
8.    ORR – Hanumkonda: this took us 2.5 hours of time.

Overall, I would prefer Solapur Route as it has less driving fatigue compared Kalaburigi Vijaypura Road. Only thing is drive to Belagavi from Nipani and decide on which ghat to choose as of today Anmod, Chorla, Tilari and Amboli ghats are not in good condition.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
