Hyderabad to Goa - Duster Journey

Had the Duster delivered in August and plans already started to get onto a trip to Goa.

Started around 2330 hrs in Hyderabad and took into the ORR, was enjoying driving the beast and had a lovely start. Had to rely on Google maps as was my first long drive and to Goa.

After crossing for sometime and onto the Mehabubnagar patch, Google asked me to take a right. Took onto a very dingy road well laid but not even an insect on the road, after around 10kms of anxious moments, merged with the SH onto Mehabubnagar. Main patch. Road was bad with no dividers and lorry traffic at peak.

Then moved onto a slightly better patch and had a good road, overall was able to maintain a decent speed of 100kmph.

As we got onto the Raichur road started to feel the speed breaker culture on state highway. Speed was a constant challenge as had to go slow in the night light.

Stopped around 5.30 am for a quick nap at a petrol pump as we neared Bagalkote.

Started after an hour and crossed Belgavi and were on our journey having stopped for breakfast enroute.

Once we crossed Belgavi were in for some nice landscapes.

Crossed Ghanapur and enjoyed the route and to get to the ghat road finally leading to Goa.

Took a total of 13-14 hours with stops.

Vehicle: Renault Duster

Make: 2016

Speed: 100-120 other than in villages

Mileage: 15kmpl

Hyderabad to Goa route is always confusing, too many diversions, villages combined with single roads.
Nice pictures, Ghat section is beautiful during monsoon.

I agree, lost my way in Belgavi and lost around 45 mins trying to figure out the route
Later got to know the route i took into join the mahabubnagar SH was called Bhootpur n is known for road laid robberies. Thank God was safe on both journeys

Another main challenge is finding a decent place to eat N also decent washroom to use on a long journey that takes anywhere between 13-15 hrs.

You have decent places at Hyderabad outskirts, Belgavi - nice udipi tiffin centre on the mainroad, and also as we cross Ghanapur N are about to get to the Ghat road there is a good eatery where most of the Orange N Kaveri travels busses stop.

Hyderabad to Goa road turns out to be a maze sometimes in-between with quite a few diversions... I have had an experience of losing out on my way in the past too.. sinCe then, I have been driving only during the day time. An early morning kick-off has always helped me to reach the place before sunset

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
