We are frustrated with daily work and stuck in home due to lockdown. At this condition we need atleast a day trip which is needed. Here is our detailed plan.

We have followed the timings as shown in the following blog: https://travelwithmanju.blogspot.com/2020/09/basara-kuntala-and-pochera-waterfalls.html

Timings have varied a little bit but the plnning is the same as given in the above blog.

Total distance covered: 600kms.

Places visited: Basar, Pochera waterfalls and Kuntala waterfalls, Sriram Sagar Dam.

We have started from Secunderabad (Bolarum) by 5:30Am

Road Conditions are excellent till Kamareddy. After Kamareddy we took a slight diversion towards Nizamabad and we have reached Basar by 9:30 Am. (As we are visiting temple we had breakfast after darshan which was packed from home).

 On the way to Basar

Places to Visit in Basar: Gnana Saraswati Ammavaari temple, Vyas Gufa and Godavari ghat.

By 11:30 we have left Basar and reached Pochera waterfalls by 2:00Pm. There we have some packed lunch. Believe me its worth visiting in Monsoon.

We would have missed all these roads if we went to Pochera waterfalls through highway. It will be a feast for nature lovers who want to escape from the city for a day.

By 2:30 we have left from Pochera waterfalls and reached Kuntala waterfalls by 3:00 PM.

One should climb down nearly 400-450 steps to reach the foot of waterfalls. While climbing down we got exhausted but after reaching the foot of waterfalls we didn't event want to move away from there. We totally forgot that we got exhausted.

From there we have left by 5:00PM and reached Sriram Sagar dam by 6:15 to visit sunset. We were here till sunset.

We have reached home by 10:00PM. Enroute we had dinner. (https://goo.gl/maps/hLKu2bnFtVS8rw72A, food here is good).

Road Conditions:

Stretch 1 (Bolarum to Basar):

Hyderabad to Dichpally: NH44 (kanyakumari - Srinagar Highway). 4 lane road with excellent conditions. There is a lot of truck traffic till we cross Medchal.

After Dichpally take right diversion towards Nizamabad. Roads are average.

Stretch 2 (Basar to Pochera Waterfalls):

Road conditions are average till Nirmal. After Nirmal google maps diverted us towards a ghat section (Old NH7 which goes through Nirmal). If you opt this road, it will be a feast to nature lovers (One may carry some eatables as there are lot of monkeys on the way). If you are planning so, don't miss this section.

Wow, very well written.. Good to know that such spots have opened up where as last year it was all shut. How was the crowd at Kuntala falls? The flow looks pretty decent for a tourist to enjoy the sight.
Thank you for sharing the details so precisely.

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
