Hi Guys,

First of, Huge thanks for this amazing community. It was quite informative. I have been researching on best ways to reach Gokarna from Goa. I see these options. Please suggest which is the best. If there is an even better Option, By all means please help me out.

Hyderabad  - Zaheerabad - Gulbarga - Hubli - GoKarna

Hyderabad - Pargi - Kodangal - Ravupally - Sedam - Gulbarga - Jevargi - Bijapur - Bagalkot - Hubli - Gokarna

Hyd - Humnabad - Gulbarga - Bijapur - Hubli- Gokarna     (Mostly National Highways)
Hyd-Jadcherla-Mehboobnagar-Raichur-Sindhnoor-Gangavati-Koppal-Gajendregad-Gadag-Hubli-Ankola-Gokarna
Hyderabad - anantapur - Rayadurgam-Haveri- Mungod - Yellapur - Gokarna.     (Mostly National Highways)
Hyderabad - Kurnool - Alur - Ballari - Davanagere - Gokarna     (Mostly National Highways)

I plan to start at 5am on 10th April from Hyderabad. So need your valuable inputs!

Thanks,

Koundi

Hi Shiva,

Thanks for the suggestion and quick response.

I see that the shorter route is

Hyd-Jadcherla-Mehboobnagar-Raichur-Sindhnoor-Gangavati-Koppal-Gajendregad-Gadag-Hubli-Ankola-Gokarna

Do you know if it is good and doable. I know that Hyderabad- mahboobnagar has improved in the past 2 years, so want to get inputs on this route if anyone has used it.

If I don't get feedback on this shortest route I will use the one you suggested. Thanks!! :)

Thanks,

Koundi

You are right roads got improved between hyderabad to mahboob nagar, but the challenges arise after this stretch, as you have to go through lot of villages and you will face lot of speed breakers. I went to Hampi through this route and it took almost 12hrs to reach Hampi.

I think 'Hyderabad ->Humnabad -> Gulbarga -> Bagalkot -> Hubli -> Gokarna' will be better.

@sagar@Gowtham,

I see you guys are the best responders and Gurus. Please help chime in if you have any update on the best Route for this in 2021 :). Sorry for tagging you out of the Blue.

Hi @koundi, I would recommend you to take the below route,

Hyderabad ->Humnabad -> Gulbarga -> Bagalkot -> Hubli -> Gokarna

The roads all the way are butter smooth except for the stretch between Bagalkot and Hubli which is a mix of both good and bad tarmac.. Amongst all the options, this would be a better pick..

And in regards to the other route you are looking at, strictly avoid it.

The Raichur - Sindhanur stretch might look short but it is pretty much time consuming.. road works in this route has been in progress forever and single lane roads with frequent speed breakers between every village you pass through.. This will kill your average speed.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the late update. This is the route I took.

Hyderabad ->Humnabad -> Gulbarga -> Bagalkot -> Hubli -> Gokarna

Hyderabad ->Humnabad ->Gulbarga

This route was Pure pleasure.

Gulbarga -> bagalkot

This stretch was Ok. We couldn't avoid gulbarga town. Going through the town was a bit time consuming. The route to bagalkot is also not that great it was a mix of Ntional Highways and state highways and a few Village roads. But overall we dint have to stop anywhere. Have nothing major to complain.

Bagalkot -> Hubli

Same as Above. Parts of it was single roads and a new highways in-between wasn't bad.

Hubli -> Gokarna

This was a beautiful drive during the sunset and was amazing. Although we had to go through at stretch of 21 kms through a very narrow village road which was painful. But rest of the way was amazing.

Overall It was fun. Reached Gokarna in 14hrs with 3 x 10 mins breaks. Started at 5:45 AM reached around 7:45PM in the night.

Suggest to start early(~4am) from hyderabad, so Hyderabad - Gulbarga can be done before the sun is up and you get to catch the sunset in Gokarna :)

Thanks,

Koundi

I am planning to go Gokarna in Nov. Recently I went to Chikmagalur via Anantpur and found the road was extremely good as its National Highway.

I found this route is interesting , so please suggest your opinion

Hyderabad -> Kurnool (NH44) -> Gooty (NH44) -> Ballari (NH 67) -> Hubli (NH67) -> Gokarna (NH52)

      Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

      After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

      Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

      We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

      Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
