Hi guys, I will be traveling to Trichy with my family for Pongal Holidays. Has anyone been to Hyderabad>bangalore> salem> trichy route recently? If so, please update the present road condition and also the route suggestions. I am planning to start in the afternoon around 2 PM from Hyderabad so i can cross Bangalore around 11 pm (hopefully avoiding the traffic) Thank you for the great forum. it gives immense pleasure to see all your triplogs and pics. keep driving!

Hello Gowtham, that's cool. I am sure salem> trichy should be good as well.

Regarding break, What do you suggest. Is it possible? Is it good idea to start around afternoon from Hyd? I am comfortable with night driving.

i thought may be 1-2 hour break ill take nearby Salem..apart from tea and dinner breaks in between.

If I am in your shoes.

I will start early in the morning at 4AM.

Disadvantage of stating early in the morning:

Bangalore traffic, 2 hours + time will be wasted.

Bangalore to Salem traffic.

Advantages :

Hyderabad to Bangalore : Less traffic, mind you it is holiday season. Now a days, I see lot of activity between Hyderabad to Kurnool. You will save at least 2 hours. Compared to starting at 2PM.

Anyway you will loose those 2 hours in Bangalore traffic.

Restaurants : You are travelling with family, better restaurants and washrooms available during day time.

Safety : Nothing can beat early morning start.

Speed : Cursing speed will be higher compared to night drive.

Strain : Less stress due to better visibility and no high beams.

I agree that night drive has its set of advantages.flag

But If I am travelling with family, I would try to avoid it.

Drive safe and All the best for your journey.

Agree with your points.

It is an advantage when we can start early in the morning.

For a person who is working late, will have a tough time getting up at 4 AM.:P

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

      Best Route 2016
      Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
