Hyderabad to Mysuru and Coorg road trip query

Hi

Am planning a drive to Mysore, Coorg and return via Shravanabelagola and Bangalore next week.

I wanted to avoid NH275 BLR-Mysore route due to traffic/ delays. Is there any better/ faster option without going thru BLR traffic to reach Mysore?

GMaps is showing NH275 option only and the NICE road/route is not shown. One alternate route I found from other threads is to take NH75 (BLR-Mangalore) till Belur cross and 150A to reach Mysore via Nagamangala/Pandavapura. Has anyone tried this route/ road conditions or any alternate route that you may suggest to avoid BLR traffic/ delays.

I will update this thread post my journey :)

thanks

Maruthi

Any specific reason to avoid Bangalore-Mysuru highway?

In 2012, I was caught up in Bangalore-Mysuru long weekend traffic.

That is the first time ever, I have pulled over because I felt it is unsafe to drive.

I’m tired and felt it is not worth the risk.

Two swift’s were tailgating me at 100kmph. [emoji3]

@Ranger - I guess you replied to your question already - even I prefer to avoid the horrific car chases on it, if possible! If it was that bad in 2012, I can't even imagine now!

I read few of our members recently drove towards Mysuru, so wanted to check if anybody found any better route.

I have taken Kanakapura highway couple of years back.
It is much safer than the regular highway.
It is a mix of four lane and two lane roads.
No facilities available compared to the other route.

If it is on a weekend/Holiday season.
You can use this route.
