Bangalore to Kanpur

Hi Friends,

I am planning a road trip to Kanpur from Bangalore in early Feb 2020.

Thinking of following route -

1. Day-1: BLR - HYD

2. Day-2: HYD - Nagpur

3. Day-3: Nagpur to Kanpur.

 

I a planning to start from each place early morning, around 5-5:30am.

I am driving Skoda Kodiaq.

 

I have following queries -

1. I read that food options on HYD-NAG route are pretty limited. Any suggestions ?

2. Similar to above, what food options we have on Nagpur to Kanpur route ?

3. Which route is better for Nagpur to Narsigpur ? via Chindwara OR via Seoni ?

Hi @sunilmisra1971, I would recommend you to do the leg via Seoni which is a better option when compared. I had done the same last year.

We stopped by Yash hotel which you will find it after crossing the sagar ring road on the same highway. Most of the other places seemed like small dhabas compared to Yash hotel.

I'm planning a trip from Bengaluru to nagpur in May after the lockdown is lifted..travelling with family and I'm the single driver.. 

 

If u've completed your trip, can u plz update me on the

(a) Road conditions 

(b) Driving time

(c) Halt and food tips 

(d) Any other aspects..

Hi,

 

Yeah, I completed by trip successfully. I completed BLR to NAG in two days. Both day's drove only from morning till noon.

 

(a) Road conditions 

-> Bangalore to Nagpur road condition is awesome. No need to worry. I took Nehru ORR in Hyderabad and it added ~35-40kms. But you may choose based on the place you are staying in Hyderabad.

(b) Driving time

-> BLR-HYD: Around 8hrs.

->HYD->NAG: 7:30hrs. But I stayed at the start of Nagpur.

(c) Halt and food tips 

-> BLR-HYD: There are quite a few places. There are less places from HYD to NAG.

(d) Any other aspects.. 

-> Nothing as such

I am planning to drive on emergency from Bangalore to Kanpur. Please let me know how is the route from Nagpur to Kanpur.

If possible please share complete driving experience and challenges faced during the trip.

As you could see in above post, I did complete this journey.

 

1. Nagpur <-> Kanpur :  I tired below -

 

While NAGPUR to Kanpur 

 

Single road upto Narsingpur is only concern. Road condition was very good and traffic is less.

 

While KANPUR to NAGPUR

 

I took NH44 via Seoni.

It is awesome 4 lane route by around 100km before Nagpur, road is under construction and was in very bad condition.

Hi Praveen, What’s the average distance you’d be able to do in a day.. We can suggest to you accordingly as it’s going to be a hectic drive if you plan to do this in 2 days..

Kanpur to Sagar

 

DAY - 2 

Sagar to Hyderabad 

 

Day - 3 

Hyderabad to Bangalore

Thank you for your suggestions Sagar Sir, I planned to complete the trip by 3 days, with 2 night breaks at Nagpur and outer Hyderabad, I have driven 600kms in a single stretch in past multiple times which is mostly 4 lane NH Drive. Not sure how is the road beyond Bangalore to North, that's why wanted to hear inputs from experts who would have covered this stretch.

Roads between Hyderabad and Nagpur are flawless.. Road conditions start to deteriorate between Nagpur to Kanpur. You will come across a mix up of good and bad batches. 
Be cautious and avoid night drives. Plan your start early around 5 AM.

Restaurant options between Nagpur and Kanpur are also very limited. You will mostly find roadside dhabas on this stretch.
