There are some mixed opinions from hyd to tirupati route,

Option-1 - LB nagar - nalgonda - addanki - NH-16 - nellore - srikalahasti - tirupati

Option-2 - Gachibowli - kurnool - kadapa - tirupati

It all depends upon the start point from hyderabad and also if you want to visit srikalahasti temple.

Again no clear clarity on completion of proposed highway kurnool - kadapa, but what I got the information is that almost completed.

The only issue you may face is between kadapa to tirupati, this stretch is not a highway and you may not feel comfortable.

Even I am planning to travel tirupati 29th Nov.

Gachibowli - Nalgonda - addanki - NH-16 - nellore - srikalahasti - tirupati

Day1 - 29th Nov - Srikalahasti temple darshan

Day2 - 30th Nov - Padmavathi amma varu and local temple

Day3 - 1st Dec - reach Tirumula, special darshan (300/-)

Day4 - 2nd Dec -  Suprabhatam seva and vasanthotsavam seva

Day5 - 3rd Dec - Return journey

Tirupati - vontimitta (temple darshan) - kadapa - yaganti - kurnool - gachibowli

All seva tickets and accommodation (tirumala) tickets are booked except tirupati, I need to try in vishnu nivasam current accommodation if not search good hotel nearby.

Any suggestion, please.....

Thank you,

Raj

I did Hyd-Tpty-Hyd trip in late Sep and would suggest you take Hyd - Kurnool - Kadapa - Tirupati route. Below are my observations:

1. Hyd - Kurnool is a breeze and can be done in 2.5/3 hours easily

2. Take the Kurnool bypass road to Kadapa

3. Kurnool - Kadapa is a new 4 lane road (with Nandyala bypass road ready) and can be easily done in 2/2.5 hours

4. Before Kadapa take the left at Aalam Khan Palle towards Rajampet

5. Kadapa - Tirupati road is a 2 lane road (average roads and watch out for speed breakers on this road especially during night drives). This route goes through a forest so its scenic and nice to drive through.

6. Take a right before Renigunta to reach Tirupati/Alipiri.

I had done this drive in about 7.5 hours that included breaks of around 45 mins (Stated at 6:30AM from Gachibowli and reached Tirupati airport at 1:50PM).

For leisure drive it takes 10 hours but as I mentioned I had to pick up my family from Airport so did some spirited driving. Road between Kurnool and Kadapa doesn't have much traffic so it became all the more easy. Plus I took just one break so was able to manage it in that time.

While return changed the route via Rayachoty ( extra 1/2hr journey, 25kms)

Tirupati to Pileru - Road was OK with some ghat section

Pileru to Kadapa - Highway road without divider with some ghat section

Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise

After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal.

We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks.

Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence.

      Distance : 376 km
      Ride: Honda City
      Fuel : Petrol
      Mileage : 15 kmpl
Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night)

Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
