Hyderabad to Bogatha waterfalls

Distance : 260 Kilometers

Drive time : 6 hours (including breaks)

Route:

Hyderabad --> Jangaon --> Warangal --> Mulugu --> Peddagolla gudem --> Bogatha waterfalls

Hyderabad to Warangal road is a mix of both 4-lane and 2-lane. Road condition is above average.

Warangal to Bogatha waterfalls : Average road, 2-lane. But the drive is enjoyable as you go through forest.

Bogatha waterfalls is a beautiful place. Water is very clean and fresh.

Waterfalls is located in the middle of the forest.

How to reach Bogatha Waterfalls?

You need to walk down at least 2 kilometers to visit this place. The walk itself is fun as you go through the forest.

It is not accessible via road. (less crowd :P)

Other places to cover en-route?

You can cover Warangal and Laknavaram Lake which is en-route.

Any stay options at Bogatha waterfalls?

None, nearest stay is at Warangal or Laknavaram (Telangana tourism)

Food(Restuarents) options at Bogatha Waterfalls?

No proper hotels. I would suggest to carry your food. It will be fun having a small picnic.

You can pack the food from Warangal.

Nice post. Thank you for sharing.

Carrying food from Warangal seems like a good idea :)

We faced similar issue during our visit to Laknavaram.

Very few food options once we cross Warangal.

But luckily we found one Telangana tourism restaurant neat Laknavaram. It is located on the Highway.

Picture taken in last month by Girish.

Few important points shared by him

  • Crowd is high on weekends
  • Carry food from Warangal, no proper food options available at Bogatha waterfalls
  • You can cover Laknavaram bridge en-route to Warangal.
  • Huge parking space available for cars and bikes
  • Walking distance is less than 1 kilometer from car parking to water falls
  • Drive from Laknavaram to Bogatha is beautiful(forest drive)
  • Start early in the morning to avoid the crowd
  • Monsoon is the best time to visit
  • Carry snacks, food and water

Is January good time to visit this place? or there is no water flow in the falls?

Water flow is very less in January.
But the place is very calm and peaceful, it is worth a drive. You can also cover few places around Warangal.

You can stay at Laknavaram, make sure you book the wooden cottages given below

https://www.india-drive.com/index.php?/topic/177-hyderabad-to-laknavaram/
https://www.india-drive.com/index.php?/topic/14-road-trip-from-hyderabad-to-warangal-and-laknavaram-telangana/

Avoid these places during long weekends, it is over crowded.

I had visited this Bogatha Waterfalls this yesterday (15th Jan 2017). There was water, but no falls :(.

Yes it was crowded, as it was Shankranti holiday.

4-way lane construction is in progress and half the way was 2-way lane drive.

Might try with Laknavaram cheruvu next time during Monsoon.

Laknavaram is good during winter, If you can find accommodation in wooden cottages.

Any pictures of your drive?

You have 2 places to stay @ Haritha TSTDC. one at Laknavaram and the other one at after Mulugu. on the right side.

The one at Laknavaram is good to stay and relax. Weekends you need to have advanced booking. Don;t try to go during Jan month end as Sammakka jatara is happening from Jan 31st to Feb 3rd. The roads and hotels are busy during weekends before and after jatara.

You can also visit Ramappa temple and a lake. that is also huze lake and boating option is there.

Recently i heard that @tadvai Forest Guest house they started accommodation in the huts. Please check.

Tadavi is located in the middle of forest enroute to Eturunagaram/Bogatha falls and comes after 15km from Pasra.

seems they started/staring a Trecking package to Pandavulagutta near Tadvai.

We are planning to go on this monday feb 19th can we make it up in one day? Laknavaram and bogatha falls.?

You wont find water in Bogatha waterfalls.
Cover all places in a single day is going to be hectic.

Would suggest you to do Laknavaram and Ramappa temple in a single day.
If you are planning to cover Bogatha waterfalls, plan it during monsoon.

Should I wait till August?

Wait till July end.
No proper rains yet.
August will be peak time.

Don't visit Bogatha waterfalls during long weekends/festival seasons.

You may face high crowd.

Is it possible to visit Bogatha from Hyderabad in a single day.

It can be done.

But you wont have proper time at the waterfalls.

Distance from Hyderabad to Bogatha waterfalls is around 270kms.

Drive time is 8 hours.

So do the math, It is not practical to do it in a single day.

I would suggest you a two night visit.

This will help you in covering all the places in and around Warangal.

Day 1:
Hyderabad to Laknavaram.

Book the stay in advance (wooden cottages are good)

Day 2:

Laknavaram to Bogatha

Visit waterfalls

Bogatha to Warangal

Day 3:
Visit places around Warangal

Drive back by afternoon.

Fantastic plan.

i can manage only one night, two nights will be an over kill for me.

How is the overall road condition from Hyderabad to Bogatha waterfalls?

Hyderabad to Warangal is good.

It is a 4-lane road at the beginning then followed by single lane.

Traffic is medium.

Warangal to Bogatha waterfalls has some very bad patches but they are not consistent.

Which car are you driving? Is it Isuzu?

Any accomdiation suggestions? If I don't get any place in Laknvaram resorts.

Hotel Grand Gayatri has good rooms.
We stayed there last year.

Rooms are very neat.

Lack of accommodation at  Bogatha waterfalls is making tough to visit them.

Same case with Kuntala waterfalls, should drive back on the same day.

Laknavaram lake itself has a Haritha on the Island @Ranger This would be the last option to pack a bare minimum decent kind of food while going to Bogatha!

Been there, main hotel near the bridge is not so great.

They have built wooden cottages on the other side, which are excellent for a weekend getaway.

Bogatha waterfalls looks quite tempting for a quick getaway.

I do not recommend Laknavaram visit as there will not be any water now. I did not stary but the cottages of Haritha are no good. Instead Ramappa has new cottages and lake will have water 365 days.

Another best option is staying at Tadvai Huts of Forest Department. They are very close to Bogatha and good. Check this link.. http://www.ecotourism.bhupalpally.com/tadvai_huts.html  This is just on the road to Bogatha. You go early to the Bogatha before Hyderabad crowd starts and come back to Tadvai for Lunch. Pl note when flow is more, they will not allow any one in to the water. In such case you can not spend much time there.

Even at Warangal visit 1000 Pillar temple and Bhadrakali Temple. Fort can be avoided if time is constraint.

Looks like govt has constructed a pool for visitors near water fall which can accommodate 200+ people. Some restaurants also available where you can order in advance if you are going as 20+ group.
