  7. I did not travelled for three months and the traveller in side me is thirsty. Few plans to West Maharastra and Goa with friends did not materialised. I had also planned a trip to Chitrakote falls with family friends but they were afraid of travelling in Chattisgarh. It was late night of 27th July, 2018 Friday and I was desperate to go to some place. I asked my wife and son Shall we go to Chitrakote Waterfalls? They said yes. Rough route plan was with me. No bookings for night stay made. Got up early on 28-07-2018 Saturday and started from Home by 5.30 AM and reached Warangal by 7.30 AM. I know the route up to Eturunagaram before Bhogatha and I know very well that once we cross Warangal, it is difficult to get any food. So we had Breakfast at Hotel Ashoka, Hanmakonda, once my favorite. Entered in to Mulugu road (from here entire roads are 2 lane) by 8.30 AM. Our original thought was to come back in the same route from Chitrakote but it proved wrong. Initially we thought of seeing Bhogatha falls in return journey so as to reach Chitrakote early. By 10.30 we were at Bhogatha Falls cross road and its only 1 Km from there. We thought lets have a look without wasting much time. It proved to be good decision.
  8. Hyderabad to Bogatha waterfalls Distance : 260 Kilometers Drive time : 6 hours (including breaks) Route: Hyderabad --> Jangaon --> Warangal --> Mulugu --> Peddagolla gudem --> Bogatha waterfalls Hyderabad to Warangal road is a mix of both 4-lane and 2-lane. Road condition is above average. Warangal to Bogatha waterfalls : Average road, 2-lane. But the drive is enjoyable as you go through forest. Bogatha waterfalls is a beautiful place. Water is very clean and fresh. Waterfalls is located in the middle of the forest. How to reach Bogatha Waterfalls? You need to walk down at least 2 kilometers to visit this place. The walk itself is fun as you go through the forest. It is not accessible via road. (less crowd ) Other places to cover en-route? You can cover Warangal and Laknavaram Lake which is en-route. Any stay options at Bogatha waterfalls? None, nearest stay is at Warangal or Laknavaram (Telangana tourism) Food(Restuarents) options at Bogatha Waterfalls? No proper hotels. I would suggest to carry your food. It will be fun having a small picnic. You can pack the food from Warangal. PC: Girish
  9. Hyderabad to Srisailam Guide Distance : 220 kilometers Route : Hyderabad - Kadthal - Kalvakurthi (bypass) - Dindi - Munnanur - Mallapur - Sundhipenta - Srisailam Road condition : Hyderabad to Dindi, road condition is excellent. Super smooth road and has tolls. Toll road : Hyderabad to Dindi Dinidi to Srisailam, road condition is good, roads are narrow, difficult to overtake and many blind curves but the views are fantastic. Ghat road : Dindi to Srisailam
  10. Dear ALL, I am planning to travel to tirupati from Hyderabad by in a automatic car. Don't want to take bad roads. Can anyone please suggest the best route?
  11. I regularly commute on Hyderabad to Vijawayada highway, almost once in a month from the past 10 years. Hyderabad to Vijayawada distance :275 kilometers Year :2006 It is a single lane road, not enough to fit 3 vehicles at a time. It used take me 7 hours to travel from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. Blind curves. Highest accident ever occurred in the country. One of the busiest, mostly filled with trucks. Worst road condition, filled with unlimited potholes. Driving at night is a suicide.(zero visibility with those high beams) Some overtakes used to take me at least 15 minutes, Imagine 10 trucks trailing each other with no space between them, on a single lane! No proper hotels and washroom Worst fuel quality But I used to enjoy the drive, it is challenging and fun. Year :2017(after a decade) Now it has a 4-lane road, truck lay by lanes, emergency lanes and bridges across villages. It is taking me 4 hours from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. I am saving 3 hours. Many good hotels available, no issues with washrooms. Toll road, with road assistance and standby ambulance for safety. Continues patrol across the highway, last year a huge industrial truck was stuck on highway while taking u-turn. Patrol guys arrived within 15 minutes and took the situation under control. Hotels between Hyderabad to Vijayawada 1. Village Aharam : Malkapur First decent hotel on the highway 2. Highway 9 Restaurant : Nalgonda Good for break fast 3. Hotel Vivera : Nalgonda Recomended, If you are planning to diver towards Nalgonda. 4. Maa palle ruchulu : before suryapet Village style hotel, don't expect luxury. 5. Hotel 7 : suryapet Best in quality, very good washrooms. Recommended for families. 6. Numerous hotel in Suryapet. You get all types verities over here. 7. G-hotel : Suryapet 8.Once you cross Suryapet, you won't find any proper hotels, though you can find many road side dhabas. Please correct If i miss anything. Fuel stations You can find then in every 20 kilometers radius. Tolls It is a complete toll road, elevated 4-lane, on an average you pay around 1 rupee per kilometre, so it should be under 250/-
  12. Places Travelled Hyderabad - Tirupati - Kanchipuram - Madurai - Rameshwaram - Dhanushkodi - Palani - Guruvayur - Coimbature - Bangalore - Lepakshi - Hyderabad No. of people 5 in Vitara Brezza Day 1: Hyderabad to Tirupati Day 2:Dharshan at Tirupati Day 3:Tirupati to kanchipuram Day 4:kanchipuram to madurai Day 5:Madurai to Rameshwaram and dhanushkodi Day 6: Dhanushkodi to gurvayur via palani Day 7: Gurvyaur to coimbatore Day 8: Coimbatore to hyderabad via bangalore and lepakshi First trip of 2021 has became the best trip till now. Travelled around 3500kms. Planned to visit all the places of southern part but rain has ruined all our plans. Heavy rains in Tamilnadu. Best Moment: Visiting my dream place "Dhanushkodi", The Last Road Of India. Everyone must visit, but not while raining. Goosebumps moment when we reach the destination. The sound of waves at one side, eyes full of happiness at another side, this is what everyone needs. Road Conditions: Overall the road conditions was awesome with minimum potholes. A small suggestion: when you travel through some village, it is better to ask localities about the route than blindly believing on Google Maps. If Stuck in traffic by believing on GMaps. Expenses: Diesel: 18000/- Food and beverages: 10000/- Room: 15000/- Toll Tax: 2100/- The best food we ate was Dindigul Thalappakatti biryani. Funny Incident: Bangalore has fined us for not wearing masks inside the car. we are not aware that we should wear mask in car while travelling with windows rolled up. We were by 250rs each. The fun is police where stopping only outside state cars, they aren't stopping Karnataka registered vehicles. We found few people travelling in KA registered vehicle, they are not wearing any masks. when we ask police to stop them, Cops answer Thum jhakey roko na ghadi ko". This is kind of discrimination which every traveler hates.
  13. Hyderabad to Hamsaladeevi Beach - A hidden Paradise After a long wait for the December trip, we kick started our vacation to the most beautiful Hamsaladeevi beach located in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. Usually many of them skip this place due to lack of accommodation, but you will find a decent stay in Vijayawada which is around 80 kms approximately from Hamsaladeevi. It is definitely worth travelling so far to see the beauty of this Sagara Sangamam, where river Krishna meets the Bay of Bengal. We started at an early hour from Hyderabad and reached Vijayawada by 10 AM and checked into the OYO hotel. There are no food joints available at Hamsaladeevi beach so we packed the lunch from the hotel and headed out. Vijayawada to Hamsaladeevi drive took us 3 hours with some breaks. Hamsaladeevi village is 24 kms away from Avanigadda and we reached Hamsaladeevi by 3 PM. After a long drive from Hyderabad, there was an adrenaline rush gushing out to see this most beautiful place and couldn't wait to snap the sandy beach and the 'river-beach' meeting point. This point is 2 km away from the beach (From Hamsaladeevi village, beach is 4 kms) and we drove our car on the beach side shore to the port to see the confluence. Distance : 376 km Ride: Honda City Fuel : Petrol Mileage : 15 kmpl Hotel : OYO rooms (2000/- per night) Best Route 2016 Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Vijayawada -->Pedapulipaka --> Madduru --> Thotlavalluru --> Nimmagadda --> Avanigadda --> Nagayalanka --> Chodavaram --> Hamsaladeevi Beach Note: Don't take any diversions from the mentioned route else you might end up between bad conditioned roads and longer distances as you pass
  14. Hi. I am planning to drive from Mumbai to Srisailam with family. I would be the only driver and so will need night breaks in between. I am confused about the route to take post Solapur. Google map shows 2 routes one via Gulbarga and other via Zaheerabad. Which one is better and a 4 track road with dividers? One friend suggested instead it drive till hubali then to Bellary and then reach Srisailam as the road is good and the total distance might increase only by 150 kms. Please guide. Thanks

  16. Hyderabad to Singur dam Road condition: Average, Single roads with decent condition. First 30 kilometers on ORR the and the next 50 kilometers on a single lane road. Drive: You will enjoy driving through the remote villages of Telangana. Distance: 80 kilometers from Gachibowli, Via ORR. Hyderabad to Singur dam route: Gachibowli (ORR) ---> Patancheru (Mumbai highway exit) ---> Sadashivpet ---> Atmakur ---> Singur Dam There are multi routes available via Sanga reddy, If you want to explore the interiors of villages. Place to visit in Singur dam: Singur dam (No restriction are permissions are required. You can explore the place without any issue) Manjeera river Singur project park (average) Circular well (Don't miss this place) Harita lake view resort Google maps: Singur Dam : https://goo.gl/maps/5vejQeyWHgQ2 Manjeera river : https://goo.gl/maps/CskbP4aPD8C2 Circular well : https://goo.gl/maps/ryKQPciEjDm Harita resort : https://goo.gl/maps/AN3fVey5gvj Important points: Carry water and snacks No proper washrooms available Food options: Haritha resort and Parmy resort. Circular well view point is a little isolated, going in a group would be preferable. No proper fuel options Singur project: Irrigation Hydro electric generation Water project It is a drinking water source for Hyderabad. According to some reports, It has a lot of crocodiles but, we couldn't spot any.
  17. Hi All, I have completed the Hyderabad to Goa track yesterday. Let me split the roads into different sections to give clear information. Best route to Goa? It always varies from year to year. Best route: Hyderabad > Zaheerabad > Humnabad > Gulbarga > Vijayapura > Bagalkot > Belgaum > Dodamarg > Goa Hyderabad to Humnabad: Excellent 4-lane road Humnabad to Gulbarga : Smooth 2-lane road, you can take Gulbarga outer ring road to skip the traffic Gulbarga to Belgaum : Smooth 2-lane road, some of it has a toll Belgaum to Goa: Roads are not so great blame the recent rains, few patches are pathetic. Tip: Humnabad to Belgaum road looks same all the way, Food: Zaheerabad Gulbarga Belgaum People using Google maps, split your route into different sections Section 1: Hyderabad to Gulbarga, it should be via Zaheerabad Section 2: Gulbarge to Belgaum Section 3: Belgaum to Goa, make sure you put exact location in Goa (example : Anjuna beach) Drive time Total drive time including breaks is 14~15 hours, Don't get fooled by google times. Lots of village traffic followed by ghat section, will eat away your time. Worst route is via Raichur, completely avoid it. Few clicks from the drive.
  18. Can anyone help me with Hyderabad to Raipur highway condition?
  19. **Route update NH65/ NH16/ NH14** Distance -1672 kms Total time 26 hrs Standstill time : 1 hr 17 min ( includes breaks + refueling ) Source : Hyderabad Destination: Asansol Vehicle - Duster AWD. Start : Friday 9pm . Sept 2020 End - Saturday 11pm Sept 2020 Toll charges - 1600 ( Paytm fastag discounts ) Diesel - 119 litres Average diesel rate at all states ~ 80 Road conditions - (9pm - 1am ) Hyderabad to Vijaywada - nh65 , first 60 kms can get irritating if you drive during daylight and traffic. Post that tarmac is smooth and you can make up time. ( 1am -6 am) Vijaywada - Vizag - Post Tuni till southern Chilka - lots of diversions but they are in a better shape from what I had seen during the last Hyderabad - East Bhutan trip. 33kms before entering Vizag we took the Bypass , it was scenic and scarcely busy although we crossed it at 5:30am . ( 6am -2pm ) Vizag - Chilka - Bhubaneswar : Super scenic + great road. Chilka - Bhubaneswar : Major diversions but manageable with mild traffic from adjoining towns. ( 2pm - 6pm ) Bhubaneswar - Kharagpur : great road ,no issues but tarmac has major undulations , cars with lower GC will bottom out, saw a swift dzire break it's left fog lap. Just be careful. But majorly scenic. ( 6pm -11pm ) Kharagpur - Bishnupur - Raniganj -Asansol : Smooth tarmac, lots of towns / villages enroute, we did it at night, that saved a lot of time. Keep an eye for weak bridges. A brigde we used often for past few years was shattered by an overwhelmed river. Passes and URLs - Orissa - https://covid19.odisha.gov.in/ ( 1 pass ) AP - http://spandana1.ap.gov.in/Registration/onlineRegistration.aspx ( 2 passes, entry and exit ) WB- 8017845555 ( send a ping via whatsapp, then respond accordingly) We were not stopped at any state border for checking passes in the 26 hours of driving. Note: please research about the days of lockdown in AP/OD/WB, authorities are very strict. Picture - A mandatory selfie with Kashfool. aka - Saccharum Spontaneum Those who are planning to drive excercise caution and safety. Have a happy and a safe trip. Source : Aritra Ray
  20. After staying abroad for five years. I decided to come back to India for good. Reason for the drive? You will find out soon.. ? Top three places to visit in Chikmagalur: 1. Mullayangiri 2. Baba Budangiri 3. Jehri waterfalls Route 1: Best route from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur Hyderabad --> Kurnool --> Ananthapur --> Doddaballapura --> Visveswarapura--> Hassan --> Chikmagalur Hyderabad to Doddaballapura : Excellent 4-lane toll road Doddaballapura to Visveswarapura : Single road, road condition is average, but helps in avoiding Bangalore traffic. You can skip Banaglore traffic using this bypass. Visveswarapura to Hassan : Excellent 4-lane toll road Hassan to Chikmagalur : Single road, road condition is excellent. It took us around 13 hour to cover this route, while coming back from Chikmagalur to Hyderabad. Route 2: Worst route from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur Hyderabad --> Kurnool --> Ananthapur --> Challakere --> Hiriyur --> Chikmagalur We took this route, while going from Hyderabad to Chikmagalur, just to check the status. It is a bad decision. Roads are very bad once you divert from Ananthapur. There are some mud tracks. Too many diversions. No proper dhabas. No proper fuel options. Avoid this route at any cost. Hyderabad to Chikmagalur four days road trip plan and hotel details: Day 1: Hyderabad to Chikmagalur town Accommodation in Chikmagalur town On day 1, it is better to take accommodation in the Chikmagalur town. Reason? Accommodations are cheap and good in the town. By the time you reach Chikmagalur it will be evening, it is better to stay in town. Most of the sight seeing spots are under 40~50 kilometres from the Chikmagalur town. Accommodation : Name : Hotel Blue Perl Chikmagalur Price : 2.5k per day (3 pax) Hotel Rating : 5/5 New construction Car parking is avilable Rooms are modern and neat Gobibo url Day 2: Chikmagalur town to Mulyangiri Mulyangiri is a must visit place in Chikmagalur, it is the highest peak in Karnataka. It is around 20 kilometres from town. Roads are little tricky but, it is accessible by all cars. Dedicated car parking available 200 steps from the parking, need to some energy to climb. Carry water and don't litter. There is temple at the hill top, with beautiful view. Weather can be spoil sport, some time visibility is almost zero and some times it is clear. Luckily we experienced both Accommodation : Name : Kuteer home stay Price : 14k per day (6 pax) Food : 4k per day (6 pax) (Includes: Bonfire,Lunch, Evening snacks, Dinner and breakfast) Hotel Rating : 4.5/5 Food : Only vegetarian, but the quality is good, would rate 5/5 Location is tough to reach, low GC cars will have tough time. But they have jeep facility (for less experienced drivers better to take jeep and park the car at the parking) Resort is very isolated better to visit only in group. View from the resort is best. They have two villas, each villa can accommodate around 10 members. Staff is very supportive. Carry all the stuff along with you, there are no shops/hotels around the resort. You can carry your own liquor but it is tricky if you get caught at the forest check-post. Forest check-post is present at the entrance of the hill section, they check the cars randomly. For booking you can call the resort owner. You need to do the full/advance payment while booking. Issues? Too many insects, but it is expected when we say in the nature. Day 3 Jahari waterfalls, it is around 2 kilomters from the home stay. You can visit this place in home stay jeep. 4x4 territory, don't attempt in your own car. Since we stay very close to waterfalls, we reached the place early. It is completely empty, not even a single person is present. Baba Budangiri is a must visit place. Once you enter Baba Budangiri road drive till the end point, i.e Manikyadhara waterfalls. There are multiple view points. Accommodation : Same as above Day 4 : Drive from Chikmagalur to Hyderabad. It took us around 13 hours. We started around 9AM and we reached home around 10PM. We also tried the famous Kothakota chicken, food is strictly average. Total trip cost (6 members) Accommodation : 5k(day 1) + 14k(day 2) + 14k(day 3) = 33k Fuel : 11kmpl (1600 kilometres) = 10k Food : 3k(day 1) + 4k (day 2)+ 4k (day 3) + 4k (day 4) = 19k Picture credits: @Ranger
  21. Hyderabad to Bhongir fort drive meetup - February 25th - 2017 Start point - Gachibowli (ORR) End point - Bhongir fort Start time - 6:30 a.m. Distance - ~110 kms Objective : A small gathering to meet all the new folks of the club for breakfast at Viveria hotel and drive towards Bhongir fort in a union spirit to continue this year on a cheerful note. Destination description: The Bhongir fort was built upon a single rocky hill in Bhongir, a town in Telangana, located in the Nalgonda district of the state. The Western Chalukya ruler, Tribhuvana malla Vikram aditya VI, built the fort from one single monolithic rock in the 12th century. The fort was originally named Tribhuvanagiri, and eventually the name metamorphosed into Bhuvanagiri and eventually, into Bhongir, which is its present name. It is spread across an impressive area of 50 acres at a height of around 500 feet over the top and is about 50 kms from the Hyderabad skirt. Highlights: Bhongiri fort is the highest fort in India, It is constructed on a single large stone. The shape of the hill is very unique. Bhongir fort tips: No food and water are available at the fort, carry your own water and snacks. Make sure you carry back the trash instead of littering around. Vehicle parking is available at foot hills of the fort. Less crowded. Trek is easy, no gear required as most of the ascent carved of steps on the rocky surface. Not advisable to visit after sunset. Early morning is the best time to visit. Should be extra careful during the monsoon, it may be slippery. Bhongiri Fort timings: Fort is accessible between 10AM to 5PM. 22. Planning: It was October 2016 when we started planning for a long road trip. It was my wife's idea of visiting a cold place (if possible, snow fall) in winter, and subsequently we ended up talking about Manali (obvious choice of transport being, ROAD ). Idea was shot down by colleagues and friends, saying 2200KM drive one-side is no joke. Having experience of driving 17 hours a day couple of times, I knew that 3-day drive to Manali was pretty much possible. When started planning, things started to look easy - one of the key aspect of this journey was choice of stops. Upon deciding stops, stay, and places to visit, there was no stopping. In general, I would love to have best possible weather when I hit the road (my usual search query on Google being "where is it raining in India?"). In this case, we knew that fresh snowfall would happen at most 4-5 times in entire season, and we finalized dates trusting Accuweather data. Places planned to visit: Manali, Shimla, and Auli (tentative). THE reason to travel: To witness snowfall (Yes, we did!) Dates: 20/01/2017 to 01/02/2017 (Based on weather prediction three months before) Drive: Ford Ecosport 1.5TDCi Number of people: 3 (Driver: Only Me! ) Preparation: Being very particular about vehicle maintenance, I got everything checked (also, 2nd service was due around the same time) a week before our drive. One major problem we previously faced was light throw from headlights (OSRAMs) - I finally decided to replace with with Philips X-treme Vision Plus H4 (+130%), and they are amazing! Protective clothing: 2 layered snow-proof jacket, thermals, multi-position headband, two layers of gloves (much needed at sub-zero temperatures). Medicines: Few strips each for headache, cough/cold, fever, indigestion, and vomiting. Food: Figured out that there won't be many restaurants (especially in MP and UP). Hence, carried home-made protein bars, instant-noodle packs, juices, etc. Other things carried: Mini air compressor, 2 umbrellas, hiking pole, whistle, and 25L jerry can (and funnel). Route and Itinerary (NH44 all the way, from Telangana till Punjab) 20 Jan: Hyderabad to Sagar (MP) 21 Jan: Sagar (MP) to Greater Noida 22 Jan: Greater Noida to Manali 22 - 26 Jan: Places around Manali 27 Jan: Manali to Shimla 28 - 29 Jan: Shimla 30 Jan: Shimla to Agra 31 Jan: Agra to Nagpur 1 Feb: Nagpur to Hyderabad Day-1: (Hyderabad to Sagar - 884KM) State: Telangana It was a key decision that we had to make about 1st stop, and the choice was between Chhindwara and Sagar (considering good places to stay). We were all super-excited the night before; woke up at 4am, and hit road by 4.30am. Roads were flawless till Adilabad, and roads turned ugly (not even bad) the moment we crossed Telangana border - it was stark difference, and a badly shaped bridge welcomed us in Maharashtra. State: Maharashtra Road construction was happening on NH44 (for betterment, I'd guess), and it was not so pleasant (at the same time, not eventful) driving in MH. We crossed Nagpur 1.15pm and stopped for lunch as soon as we entered MP. State: Madhya Pradesh Tarmac turned super smooth the moment we entered MP - driving on SH 547 was pleasant experience (we passed some hills in between). No wonder MP has some of the cleanest cities in the country - one could judge the same by looking at their roads. We crossed Chhindwara around 4.30PM, and reached destination (Sagar) by 7.45PM. We could already feel the cold that night (not so much, though); had dinner and called it a day. It was a great day overall (not eventful). It was relatively long day for us in the car (~900KM), and we intentionally front-loaded much of distance on day-1.
