Hello fellow enthusiasts,

From last couple of month I have been planning a road trip from Hyderabad to Goa. Though I been to Goa last December for the new year celebration, but somehow google maps messed up the whole  trip and at some point of time I was driving on badly paved 8 feet wide road in some jungle which google considered the fastest(Google should also have an option to select 'Safe Roads'). Another issue I faced was the love of Karnataka for Speed breakers. So this time I am very much aware to be on the best route possible to avoid any such incidents. Some research online and on other forums yields the below routes.

Hyderabad - Goa

Route 1

Gachibowli -> Zaheerabad -> Humnabad -> Gulbarg -> Vijaypura -> Bagalkot -> Belgavi -> Baga

Route 2

Gachibowli -> Deosugur -> Raichur -> Bagalkot -> Belgavi -> Baga

Route 3

Gachibowli -> Pargi -> Mudhol -> Shahabad -> Jevargi -> Sindagi -> Bagalkot -> Belgavi -> Baga

Which is the best route in terms of road condition at present? I hope to have better knowledge before I leave for Goa this time.

Also I want to know any Route via Maharashtra is suitable? If If after Vijayapura I can drive into Maharashtra and then to Goa.

Route 4

Hyderabad --> Jadcherla --> Raichur --> Lingsugur --> Mudgal --> Hungund  --> Bagalkot --> Belgavi --> Kanakumbi --> Bicholim --> Baga (Goa)

Please Suggest. Thanks in advance.

Hyderbad to Goa route is always a mess.

Each year a new route shows up on the Google maps.

If you miss the single turn you will end in Village roads.

We are following this route from the past few years.

It never disappointed us.

Hyderabad to Goa Best Route (2017) : Noth Goa

Hyderabad --> Raichur -->Sindhanur-->  Gangavathi --> Hubli --> Dharward --> Belgavai --> Chorla --> Mapusa --> Goa

Hyderabad to Goa Best Route (2017) : South Goa

Hyderabad --> Raichur -->Sindhanur  --> Gangavathi --> Hubbali --> Dharward --> Mollem --> South goa

Hyderbad to Goa has multiple route options.
Once we ended up on a mud road for 50 kilometers.
We missed few turns and the route was horrible.
Don't trust Google maps.

Mark each and every town en-route and use Google maps.
This way you won't miss the route.

Gangavati is the safest option.
I have driven to hampi on that route.
Road condition is good.

Hi Guys, thanks for the quick replies,

The plan is slightly changed, now we are planning to have a break journey instead of a direct one. So the plan is to take a halt in Vijayapura (Bijapur) and visit Gol Gumbaz then to Goa on next day. So if going via Vijayapura, can take a route from Maharashtra which google showed as the  fastest one? Or should follow the typical route via Bagalkot and Belgavi?

Thanks in advance

You can take
Gachibowli --> Sedam --> Parigi --> Kalaburgai --> Vijayapura

Road condition from Gachibowli to Ravulaplly is single lane(average).

From Ravulapally to Kalaburgai it is single lane road but has a toll. Roas are maintained well on this section.
Kalaburgai has better stay options.

Note : Avoid going via Vikarabad, you need to take right turn at Manneguda.
Some times Google maps suggests route via Vikarabad.

My personal advice. Go to Goa by flight. You will incur the same amount by flight or drive. Hyderabad to Goa road is not an exciting road to drive, its the other way, completely messed up and more streesful.   Using airway, you will not waste much time nor end up being stressed. Being hardcore driving enthusiast, I am recommending the Air option

@Ranger this thread should be in Route queries na! And there is already active thread for Goa route. Should be merged ?

Even though it is hectic, diving to Goa with friends/family is always fun.
Road trip + Goa always sound exciting.

I have completed my Hyderabad to Goa drive yesterday.
Roads are very good.
I used to take Gangavathi road which was good for last few years, this lingsugur route is much better.

Will take the above suggested route.
I heard they are collecting huge toll at the ghat section, Is it true?

Hello,

Recently (last week) I was on the road trip to Goa from Hyderabad and as I was upset with the last route I took, which is ironically the most popular route in this post. The route via Raichur is being preferred by most of the fellow enthusiast but I took the route : Goa via Vijayapura and Belgavi. I have my own reason to like that route I took, first I got more than 150Km of perfect laid tarmac and beautiful 4 lane roads. As the highways are not so good in Karnatka, but the change can be seen in the route to Vijayapura. The route is not perfect but much better then the Route via Raichur that I took last year. Road work can be seen in most of the stretch between Vijayapura and Bagalkot and road between Bagalkot and Belgavi is really good to drive on if not perfect. But again, WHY KARNATAKA LOVE GIANT SPEED BUMPS??

A year back it was bad, that is the reason most preferred route used to be via Gangavati .
I guess you must have confused between Lingusur and Gangavathi.

Currently this is best route.

I want to drive to Vasco Da Gama from Hyderabad (Gachibowli)

Guys, regarding this route, when I put this in google maps, it shows 15 hrs 3 min and distance of 703 km whereas directly google maps shows 674 km in 13 hr 21 min.

Possible that google maps is not correct, or the prediction is not right because of the roads? I have experienced that google maps time is usually correct. Some people are mentioning 12 hrs whereas google maps is showing 15 hrs. Need inputs.

Google maps take many parameters into consideration.

1. Starting time

2. Starting place
3. Ending place

4. Driving speed (Once you start the trip)

You are contradicting between North and South Goa.

South Goa

12 hours drive time is from Shamshabad airport to Baga beach (south Goa) is via following route.

Hyderabad --> Jadcherla --> Raichur --> Lingsugur --> Mudgal --> Hungund  --> Bagalkot --> Belgavi --> Kanakumbi --> Bicholim --> Baga (Goa)

For North Goa there is no need to take Bagalkot route, you can take the following route.
Hyderabad --> Jadcherla --> Raichur --> Sindhanur --> Hubbali --> Mollem --> Vasco de Gama

PS : While using maps please don't select village names, you will miss the bypass routes.
Set maps from Gachibowli to Vasco de Gama and make sure you pass near to those towns/villages.

Completed with the Goa Trip. I took the route Hyderabad --> Jadcherla --> Raichur --> Lingsugur --> Mudgal --> Hungund  --> Bagalkot --> Belgavi --> Kanakumbi --> Goa

Started from Hyderabad JNTU @ 2.00 am and reached Goa "Grand Hyatt" by 5.00 pm. Took short breaks in between ( in total 1 hr break). Most part the roads are average to good (single lane) except some places like mehabood nagar 5 - 10 km (bad), Manvi village (Bad). There are speed breakers on all the villages and once you enter the village the roads are bad.

Yeah..  Highways in Karnataka have more number of speed breakers before and after every village enroute. It almost kills all of your average speed while you drive.

Hyderabad to Goa route is bad which ever route we take.

We should try to pick the best from the worst set. :D
Most of the roads are state highways with never ending diversion.

They fixed the ghat section before entering the Goa, which is somewhat relaxing.

Hi Sunil, You can opt for the route below as you enter the state from the South of Goa.

Hyderabad - Mahbubnagar - Raichur - Sindhanur - Hubbali - Ramanguli - Karwar - Palolem (South Goa)

Good time and safe drive :)

Hi All... I'm planning to travel from Hyderabad to South Goa - Agonda Beach: I have been trying to find a smooth and clean tarmac. I'm fine if the road is a little longer, however would request a smooth route... I plan to complete the trip without any stop overs (except - food, snacks etc...)

Please let me know the best route

^^This is the safest route.

But since Hyderabad to Humnabad section is completed, now the fastest route is
Hyderabad --> Gachibowli -> Zaheerabad -> Humnabad -> Gulbarg -> Vijaypura -> Bagalkot -> Belgavi -> Baga

Below is the most preferred route till last month. Personally, I would stick to the below route since the road work is completed.

Hyderabad --> Jadcherla --> Raichur --> Lingsugur --> Mudgal --> Hungund --> Bagalkot --> Belgavi --> Kanakumbi --> Bicholim --> Baga (Goa)

      Total round Trip
      2000 km
      Drive
      Ecosport
      Fuel
      Diesel
      Mileage
      16 kmpl
      Road Condition
PFB Break up of roads. Overall Good (keeping in mind about past hyd <> goa roads) with speed bumps all over Ktaka.
      Drive time
12 hrs from Hyd > Belguam (Including breaks to belgaum). I know who did Hyd > Goa directly but it’s around 16 hours. I feel road after belgaum will be scenic and not to be missed in night time, after all it’s a road trip. Hence I always do this peacefully during day light 😊
      Hotel
Stayed in Pai Resort Belgaum for 1 night, 4 nights in IBIS Styles Calungate, 2 nights in Dream of Palolem resort, 1 night in Pai Resort Belgaum.
      Trip Type and Participants
Full on leisure trip with no rush as we have 1-year old kid with us. Myself, My wife and my 1-year old kid.
      Timeline
       1st Nov 2020 – 9th Nov 2020 mid night
      Places Covered
      North Goa and South Goa

Followed below mentioned route To & from Hyd <> Goa:

Hyderabad > Humnabad >  Gulbarga (Ring Road without entering city) > Jewargi >  Bijapur (Ring Road) > Bagalkot > Belgaum >  Chorla Ghat > IBIS Styles Calungate Hotel.

Road from Hyderabad > Humnabad is NHAI and I don’t want to talk about it 😊. Couple of NHAI tolls each 90 INR. Road from Humnabad > Gulbarga is two-way road which is good with speed bumps without any toll. Road from Gulbarga > Jevargi > Bijapur is excellent two-way road with less traffic. We can easily cruise around 100-120 KMPH. However, we have lot of speed bumps and be mindful about them 😊. Couple of tolls in this stretch each around 70 INR. Road from Bijapur to Bagalkot is excellent as well. Bagalkot to Belgaum is okayish road with some bad patches. Road from Belgaum to Baaga Goa via chorla > saquelim > Bicholim > Mapusa is amidst Goa countryside and it’s scenic. However, chorla roads are real bad around 15-20 KMs but personally I was okay. Alternate routes from Belgaum > North Goa here are:   Via Tilari Ghats: I have done this route while returning and it’s average road for long stretch but it’s scenic and Tilari Ghat road specifically (has few hair pin bends) is a newly laid tarmac and it’s excellent.   Anmod Ghats: I didn’t do this but got to know from my friend (@hellboy Aqeel) that roads via Anmod are good.
Key Take Away on road conditions:

Lot of speed bumps across Karnataka. Road constructions barely. Few Bad Stretches (mainly chorla). No detours etc., due to recent rains floods. Finally, this is the best route via Belgaum 😊. Once we enter Karnataka, we should stick to SH50 most of the part and follow above route. Google maps suggests some shorter routes and better to avoid it. Please be mindful about the toll lane you are taking if you don’t have a fastag. It’s painful if we enter wrong lane now. Do carry all the vehicle documents as there are random checkpoints in ktaka and mainly in Goa.
      Our Trip starts here:

My boy’s first birthday was on Nov 5th and we decided not to do it at home as we can’t limit participants in our family, and We don’t know what all they will bring in with them in Covid season 😊

Hence, we planned road trip to Goa and this is how it all started. Before goa, we did couple of trips with my kid to Karimnagar, Gottamgutta and he was responding well to road trips.

Regarding Corona in Goa, i've asked one of my friend if it's safe to visit goa now and he just responded asking "Is it safe to stay where you are staying now" haha. That befitting reply was all enough. Intention was there is no safe place today, corona is everywhere and we just have to live with it by taking precautions (SMS as mentioned by our @mit1682bro).

We've started at 8:30 am on 1st Nov 2020 Sunday and reached Belgaum by 8:30 PM including 1-2 hour breaks. We have halted in Belgaum (Pai Resort) so that we can see the lush green beauty of Chorla ghat during daytime. Pai Resorts is decent place to put up. I recommend this totally. There are few other resorts in Belgaum if you want to check out (regenta, treebo etc.,).

Next day we started from Belgaum around 10 AM and reached Calungate by 3 PM.
We booked IBIS Styles Calungate for 5D 4N and it was a decent stay. I recommend this hotel totally.

Got to know from my connections to avoid resorts in north goa since they were just opening (OCT 2020) and not in good condition. I believe it should be good now since Goa is all “UP and RUNNING” and back to normal.

      Day wise Itinerary:

To begin with, we planned to visit lot of places in goa but ended up going to only below ones. Avoided forts etc., which basically needs trekking and any exertion due to my kid. In a nutshell, we were travelling in car itself most of the time leisurely and we just loved it. To summarize, our new way of travelling is all about:

How do we get there, I just loved travelling to the destination leisurely and it’s not just about destination. Destination Good accommodation (with a kid) Good food (exploring variety of foods and local cuisine). Honestly be it any food, nothing will satisfy me more than hyderabadi biryani & tandoori chicken. Tuned our mind to miss few places instead of rushing.
      Day 1 in Belgaum:

Check-in Pai resorts. Rested here, had dinner and breakfast at in-house restaurant.
      Day 2 in North Goa:

      Check-In Hotel Calungate beach visit
      Day 3 in North Goa:

Majorda beach Aarambol beach Vagator beach We thought of covering Arambol salt water lake, Anjuna beach sunset, Thalassa restaurant @Vagator but couldn’t do it.
      Day 4 in North Goa:

Baaga Beach, did a small Birthday Smash ceremony for my babies birthday. Attached youtube link below. Interested folks can watch the video. Reis Mogus fort visit. Fontainhas  Basilica of Bom Jesus church which was closed due to covid but we just checked out it's external beauty and headed to Mangushi temple. Temple was open for public and there were Handful of people.
      Day 5 in North Goa:

We spent leisurely at hotel and wandering around Calungate streets shopping.
Day 6, 7 in Palolem south goa:

Checked out IBIS and headed to south goa palolem beach which is 90 km from baaga. Route followed Baaga --> Calugante--> panjim --> Margao --> Canacona (palolem beach), It’s a straight road from panjim via margao which is under road windening process all along. I simply followed google maps while taking this route.
En route to Palolem we have been to Mandovi River where we saw casinos (in process of opening and must be up and running by now) and visited Fisher man’s wharf Panjim for lunch. I personally felt FisherMans is excellent in Hyderabad & bangalore than Goa. Aesthetically Restaurant is very normal is Panjim and Calungate.
Reached Palolem beach by 8PM. We booked a beach resort here and stayed here couple of nights. Beach resort name is “Dreams and Palolem, costed us 2500 INR for sea view room and it was good”. It has an in-house restaurant, ordered food from here all times and spent our time leisurely at this place. I've also done kayaking here. It's my first time and it was fun. Wasn't very risky to do it.
      Day 8:

We checked out resort in Palolem and started to Belgaum via Tilari ghats. We thought of driving as much as we can on that day but ended up staying at Belgaum Pai Resorts again since this place was tried and tested and we felt comfortable.
      Day 9:

We checked out from hotel at 10 AM and started to Hyderabad. Followed the same route to hyd I’ve mentioned above. Reached home by late night around 1 AM which made it 10 days trip 😀
This is all what we could cover. However, there are many other places in goa and time is never enough to cover those. We have variety of beaches (crowded, isolated etc.,), ancient Forts, Churches, Temples (mangushi, tambdi surla etc.,), back waters, river cruises, caisons, lush green forests, Shopping, Restaurants what not., It’s up to us what we want to cover and draft plan accordingly.

      Restaurants:

On day 1, We carried food for lunch and thought of having some breakfast at Udipi (we have been to udipi when we did gottamgutta) at Muthangi ORR exit but crowd was like “Corona never happened at all”. We thought of doing in on our way and that’s a mistake we did as we couldn’t find any hotel worth visiting. Finally what we carried for lunch turned out to be Breakfast around 11 AM near Zaheerabad.

We had Dinner at Pai Resorts on day 1 and it was good. Breakfast was complimentary and we liked it at the resort’s price.
Needless to say, about the breakfast in IBIS North goa.

We tried few restaurants in North goa which are rated high & Max Saftey in Zomato. We also have swiggy and take away options as well. On another note most of them are just being opened and few others are in process of opening. Crowd in all the restaurants was very low, especially dinner time. I'm sure we will not be able to see this Goa again. Jotting down below which we felt deserve paying a visit:

Just Lobo’s Calungate Palms and Sands beach shack Candolim De Baaga Deck Spice-IT in-house restaurant IBIS (had dinner buffet couple of times here as they were running buy 1 get 1 offer haha) FisherMan Calungate & Panjim. Food was good but overall restaurant theme of Hyderabad is way better than Goa. We tried Goan cuisine and my wife personally didn’t like the flavor (personal choice). Otherwise food was excellent. Arambol Beach Shack @ Sunbed. We just hated sea food here and thumb rule is to never have food at some random Shack. At Palolem, we had in-house restaurant and had food here itself. We didn’t step out of resort at palolem and we just loved it to be here. Lastly while returning to hyd, we did lunch Karnataka special meals @Annapurna belgaum. It was decent. Had lunch at Kamat Hotel Bijapur on return day to Hyderabad. Enroute Kamat we checked out bijapur gol gumaj from outside. It was very beautiful from distance itself.  Had Dinner at Udipi hotel near Muthangi ORR.
I would like to thank @Suresh singuluri @HellBoyy and Trifod group members who provided me inputs in doing this trip.

I am planning to travel with family from Goa to Agra by Car.

Please advise the best possible route as I hear that roads via MP are not safe and road conditions are bad.
Travelled from Bangalore to Goa - the roads were excellent !
Possible travel routes which I could figure out were :
      1) Goa - Mumbai - Udaipur - Agra
      2) Goa - Pune - Vadodra - jaipur - Agra

if anyone has travelled recently - please share your experience and advice.

      Dear Friends,

I am planning a road trip to Goa (Candolim) with my one year old child. I would greatly appreciate some specific feedback on the most ideal route to take.

Other than what Google is showing as regular routes, I was contemplating Hyderabad - Solapur - Kolhapur - Nipani - Goa.

Total Distance Travelled: 160kms up & down.
      Time Taken: 7.5 hrs.
      Road Condition: Excellent.
Vehicle: Ford Freestyle Titanium 1.5 TDCi.
Route: Gannavaram – Prakasam Barrage – Gollapudi – Lanco Circle – Kondapalli village – Lanco Circle – VGA – HYD NH – Kondapalli forest ghat – Kondapalli fort – HYD – VGA NH – Mulapadu village – Mulapadu Butterfly Park.

It was the 28th day of August. More than 6 months locked in our homes. Yes, the lockdown has been lifted. But the virus is till there.
Three visits to my hometown, Rajahmahendravaram / Dowaleswaram and Ramachandrapuram but the itch to explore a place and drive to a beautiful forest where I and my Ford always love spending time was still there.

I was at Vijayawada, the city my father is currently working as a DGM at AAI. Never been to any nearby place but always heard about the place Kondapalli. Though visiting my all-time favorite Maredumilli forest, Pamuleru Vagu the 3rd time was my initial plan, couldn’t convince my parents since we were planning to Hyderabad very soon.  So, What next? Just a quick check on the route from VGA-Kondapalli opening Google Maps and checking the best viewpoint using Google Earth.

The next day, it was 29th of August.
Gannavaram – Kondapalli village – Kondapalli fort via Kondapalli forest.

We had a delicious lunch at home in Gannavaram, checked my newly fitted Hella Comet 500 and a gentle press on the push start button depressing the clutch, my Ford 1.5 TDCi roared to life.

It took us 2hrs to reach Kondapalli village which is 45kms away from my house at Gannavaram. It was 3.07PM and we quickly stopped at Kondapalli toys store to gift a nice Kondapalli toy to our family doc and did a quick shopping for our newly renovated house at Hyderabad.

While my parents were busy shopping at the store, I had a quick look inside the store, wondered at the beauty of our native Telugu artisans work and then it was time for me to have a look at the Gmaps for further planning.
A short drive to the other side of the hill, we in no time entered Kondapalli Forest ghat. What a feeling! Driving on the ghats after almost a year. Maredumilli being the last.

It’s a 6.9km drive through the forest ghat road and it took us almost 20mins to reach to the Fort after a good drive on the extremely narrow and scenic ghat road. The road condition was excellent. Doordarshan TV towers situated at the top of the hill is a major advantage and the only reason for the best road condition.
We spent a good 1.5hrs time at Kondapalli forest. While my parents were busy exploring the fort,

I was double busy exploring the forest and clicking some beautiful pictures of my mile muncher Ford

      and enjoying the views

sipping a chilled sprite in the hot afternoon.

It was 5.15 in the evening, it’s getting dark and we were already getting late to catch-up for our last leg of journey, drive through the Mulapadu forest road in the return leg to home. We hopped into our car after sipping hot tea and at a small shop near the fort  feeling sad looking at the beauty being littered by some people.

Kondapalli fort - Mulapadu forest – Gannavaram via Mulapadu forest road.

(ONE NEEDS TO TAKE THE MULAPADU-GADDAMANUGU ROAD TO VISIT BUTTERFLY PARK AND FOREST WHICH IS NOT SHOWN IN GOOGLE MAPS)

We started at 5.45 Pm at Kondapalli fort, a good downhill drive covering the entire 6.9kms but this time in 30mins avoiding all the idiotic bikers ricing on rice bikes and Activas, we reached the VGA-HYD NH with a small scratch on the rear right door caused by an old man speeding in his Dzire without even honking on a curve. “Be gentle on my curves” must be followed everywhere!

We reached Mulapadu village and the time was already 6.15PM,

seeing no chance of driving through the Mulapadu forest road to Gannavaram which was the original plan since it was already dark and the road was full of truck traffic, I settled for a few pictures near the Mulapadu Butterfly Park arch

and Mulapadu forest entry, bought some beautiful plants in the nearby nursery, bid goodbye to the beautiful place looking at the forest road entry

planning in my mind to execute the incomplete final leg of journey all alone, we drove back to Gannavaram. I know the story is incomplete unfortunately. But hopefully I’ll be back really soon with a part 2. Until then,
      Drive Safe, Stay Safe.

    • Hyderabad, How to remove Bank Hypothecation without agent?
Received form 35 and NOC from SBI on 06 Feb 2021. I was happy that loan closed but next challenge was how to contact RTO of hypothecation removal.

Searched on internet and there was mixed response.

Contacted few agents, they quoted me charges ranging from 1200 to 2500 based on how urgent we need it.

But decided to give a try by myself. Searched on net and found below link,

      https://www.transport.telangana.gov.in/html/registration-hptermination.html

Once you will click it, it will redirect to other link shown as below

      https://tgtransport.net/tgcfstonline/Registration/RegistrationOnline.aspx?Trans=HAT

click on Hypothecation/ Hire Purchase/ Lease Termination

If you have original RC then click on YES. Then below window will be open

Once you will type above details, in next window you will get your full details. I was not sure whose number to be typed at financer mobile number i typed mine alternate number and it worked 😆. Once click you will be directed to slot booking window (image only for ref)

Click on available slot. Once that is done you will be asked to pay charges. (image just for ref) fees is around 635. Take print out of it (important)

Once all done take below document to respective RTA. Below documents required

      1. Original RC
      2. Printout of slot booking form
      3. Form 35, 2 nos (original)
      4. NOC from bank (original)
      5. Valid insurance (Xerox)
      6. Aadhar (Xerox)
      7. One small polythene pouch to keep original RC in it. At RTA they are charging Rs 5. And for printout it is Rs 10

also keep below doc in case they want (not asked to me)
      1. PUC Xerox
      2. PAN card Xerox
      3. Residence proof

In my case it was RTA Rangareddy. Mine slot booking was on 12 Feb 2021 01:40 to 01:50

Reached there around 12. Agents started chasing me. But i decided not to pay attention. Went to window No 4. Waited for 10 min.

Officer took my documents checked for 30 seconds and issued me slip. Asked me to go to window 6 for photo.

Went to window 6 waited for 10 min. officer took my slip, done some typing on screen took my photo and signature. And told me that RC will be received via post.

Everything done in 30 min of time, no agent.

Mine application is approved on same day. Now waiting for RC😏
